“Report: Video Shows Mayor Smoking Crack” (NewsRoom/LIVE CNN)
This morning on “Meet The Press” (on NBC, I think), we watched the news segment with Former NYC Commissioner, who was a guest. He believes that ten years of imprisonment over five gram of cocaine is too severe and that these addicted fools could be rehabilitated from being hard-core criminals and that their criminal records could be wiped clean. All this is in the hopes to reduce the overcrowded jail/prison system.
Over lunch today, I expressed to whoever was listening at the table that we cannot judge a person who wishes to harm (or enjoy or whatever is going inside their heads) themselves with drugs. I could NOT judge Mayor Rob Ford for a video (which I have not yet seen) and assume that the was crack inside that crack pipe. If he isn’t harming anyone else except his human form, then he shouldn’t be unduly punished.
What I would like TPTB and pals to do is for their well-paid cohorts NOT to exhort these addicted crack-heads/fools. In other words, if they come asking for a “hit” because they are “hurting so bad” and they do NOT have money, do NOT give them their “candy”! In that way, they won’t have to be “roughed-up” by thugs, who come and ask for “pay-back” later on. It makes business sense NOT to punish these stupid souls too much until they discover the error of their ways.
With regards to Obamacare, y’all are going to have to do random drug tests to make sure these drug addicts are clean as qualifiers for benefits under your ACA, I think.
