Haven’t been updating daily events. A few minutes ago, I released yet another house critter – a pale-colored spider. I was in the middle of brushing my teeth when I saw the critter crawling up along the vanity wall upstairs.
I was going to let our crawl away and let it eat bugs indoors but decided to capture it and release outdoors and into the cool, not cold night out front, past the door.
I used my usual capturing “device” – the glass lid to the gingerbread-scented candle from, ahem, him and a construction-like paper. I will post images of my “tools” later on.
So once the critter paused on the wall, I quickly “closed the lid”, on it and gently “fed the paper” underneath. Voila! A humane way to capture your indoor critters! It was a feisty one because I felt/heard its attempt to escape with a resonating “thud”.
Anyway, I’ve released some, not countless critters in this fashion because my conscience/karma bothered me so bad from past “killings”. I still could see them on my mind’s eye/memory of them struggling to stay alive and avoid being killed, flushed down the drain, whatever.
So, even baby ear wigs, tiny weevils from the VERY sweet green apples given by Bill the Chinese behind our share fence, a big beetle, which was waiting patiently trapped inside the tracks of our back sliding door, and other spiders were humanely captured and released into the wild to live and be eaten.
I still have a baby side too tiny to release outdoors. Hopefully, the old farts don’t see and hurt it. I already captured and released one baby spider, which grew up and tried to run away, not so far or fast though, after I discovered/tried to vacuum near its home.
Yeah, so I consider having spiders indoors as a sign of good luck because they eat stuff.
