On October 1, 2013, I wasn’t sure about the status of my application online and decided to fill out the “Contact” form. After 24 days of NOT visiting the website, I received a smartphone call at 0831 AM from 800-300-1506 and its associated voice-mail message (with email transcription) at 0833 AM this morning:
Yes, Hi [my first name here]. This is [black guy’s name here]. I’m with Covered California and it looks like you were applying for care, healthcare, and so we need for you to call [8xx-xxx-xxx4], [8xx-xxx-xxx4]. This is [black guy’s name] from Covered California. [It] looks like you could be eligible for a [specific healthcare here]. Uh, if you call that you number you get the chance to speak with a rep that will transfer you to a [specific healthcare here], a [specific healthcare here] representative, okay? Uh, call that number [8xx-xxx-xxx4] so that way we could transfer you directly to a [specific healthcare here] representative and we can get you going for the January 2014, uh, [specific healthcare here], the new expanded [specific healthcare here] program, alright? This is [black guy’s name here] with Covered California and we need for you to call [8xx-xxx-xxx4]. Thank you.
