“GOP champions the individual.” (San Jose Mercury News, Monday, October 7, 2013)

*Off-topic rant:
Usually, I read quickly and try my best to understand whatever I’ve read. Mostly, I must blog about that “thought” especially if I feel/think strongly about an article. If I don’t, I’ll be too lazy and forget about it.
The opinion says that Republicans championed “women’s suffrage and the abolishment of slavery”; while the Democrats passed laws such as “Medicare, Social Security, and the Affordable Care Act.”
The individual is only as strong as the group. Try going alone. It’s no fun. A babe is helpless without its caretaker. An employee is nothing without its group. A leader can’t be his own follower.
So I disagree with one side of the aisle being strictly for individuality.
