With regards to VC’s latest article, my initial thought with the artificial borders and illusionary freedom was that of control. Human are out of control. Give them that/too much freedom and you will have chaos. That’s right! We have already encroached on so many resources that there may be nothing left to “exploit”.

For example, the old man that gave us a surprise visit this morning told a story of how anyone with money could buy a “house” and keep it as long as it doesn’t burn down and/or property taxes were paid on time.

That’s why this hellish planet is broken. The only thing that needs fixing are the violent/psychotic offenders who would dare “encroach” on other property rights, not just humans, but other territorial stakes of aliens/extraterrestrials, and other sentient beings, such as animals, minerals, and ethers…
