Today, we attended the eight o’clock mass and I eyed/picked-up the following prayer card (4.5″ by 3″) from the wooden table near the double door to the vestibule:
Prayer – Year of Faith
Lord Jesus Christ, we come to You in humble prayer and in sure and certain hope: Increase our faith.
- By faith, Abraham and Sarah left all and journeyed afar.
- By faith, Mary accepted the Angel’s word and believed.
- By faith, the Apostles abandoned everything to follow.
- By faith, the disciples formed the first community.
- By faith, the martyrs gave their lives.
- By faith, men and women of all ages have heard God’s word and kept it.
Walking by faith, we too live: by the recognition that You are present in our lives and in our history. May our faith bear the fruit of love: offering not only all that we have, but sharing all that we are.
Through the intercession of Mary, the first disciple, and of Joseph, who cherished her in love, may we ever praise You who are one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
