Here are my random thoughts as entered on the “Memo” apps of my cellphone:
10/06/2011 08:35am: Yesterday, I almost ran over little Monica, an elderly Vietnamese woman in her eighties. Also, when the priest “Quatro” would invite the parishioners to extent their right hands in blessing the host givers of the sick, I would say: “ACHTUNG” rather softly instead of the regular “Amen”. We don’t do the “Heil, Hitler” in our local parish. It’s getting ridiculous.
10/06/2011 08:13am: During this morning’s sermon, the priest was talking about the Gospel in which someone didn’t have anything to feed a guest at midnight and wanted food from a neighbor, who refused. I pointed out and whispered to Maw that the passage was really about thugs getting their “fair share”. Today, charitable acts are no longer “fashionable”, even to a friend.
10/05/2011 14:00pm: I recall what a “supervisor” from my second to the first “real job” told me about getting married. She said: “Don’t do that to your parents.” In other words, I should marry someone who respect their wishes and someone who is single, handsome and has a job. She suggested that I give her a call if I ever should get married one day. That was over ten years ago. She is Chinese, by the way.
