That’s it! I’m insane for keeping junk! Well, it used to be treasures but now they have no value. How do you know if your junk has value? After you got your junk, do you ever go back to experience whatever made you like it in the first place? Yes? No? If your answer is mostly no, then it’s junk! If yes, then it’s still yours to keep as treasures,.
So today, while Maw busied herself with gardening (transplanting two marigolds of maroon and gold into larger clay containers) and while Paw helped her and cleaned up the garden, I started “cleaning [up the] house” and garage! That’s right! There’s really nothing worth “OWNING”.
The nuttiest of minds would cling to said valuables until senility and old age set in. New owners also have good minds to reinvest said junk. Having said that, here is a nice list of stuff piled up downstairs for donating tomorrow:
- Over four dozen paperback books of horror, sci-fi and fantasy; and others, such as two about water, two about orgone and one about ghosts and pals.
- Hard cover books, such one about etiquette.
- Twelve EASY books piano theories and songs. (I couldn’t throw away the popular sheet musics and old ones with my childhood handwriting.)
- Fifteen VCR tapes.
- Three DVD of health (for senior citizens) and dancing.
- Two 5-disc set of ELR televised sit-com series.
- Four disc book set of Inuyasha series.
- Nineteen popular audio CD’s, including four of Vaihi.
- Thirty-four Mind-Tek CD’s (including book on “Super Brain”): 4 Starters, 5 Ultra Meditation, 9 Transcendental Mind Series, 8 Healing Music, 5 Virtual Dreamscape, and 3 X’s Series.
- One Ouija board, one wall display of “Weapons of Mindanao”, one shell display with black stand from the Philippines, small *wooden baskets, *four small metal toy cars, a bagful of $1 figurines, one “Japanese” flower display of black and white from the Berryessa Flea Market, one horizontal mirror with brass hooks, one wooden back massage with rollers, one patina-colored dragon bowl, one bag of used parakeet plastic containers and toys, one Chinese-styled, heavily-lacquered, small plant stand from The Home Depot, one “The Shepherdess” poster from Joanna B., one old humidifier *for $5.50, one good hexagonal-shaped fish tank, one metallic exerciser springs used by Paw, who was looking for it, *a LARGE, plastic Tinkinerbell toy flying around in circles, *a rusty set of three attached, 3-D hanging (sunface, hummingbird and crucifix) for the outdoors, *several wooden and metallic frames for large certificates and small photos and other wall hangings; *a black box of pastel-colored, silken, jewelry holding “purses”, etc.
The remaining “loose” items are still found in my closet as a “life-sized” R2D2 from “The Sharper Image”, stuffed animal toys, collectable figurines (which belong to the boy), semi-precious earrings and trinkets and office/computer supplies. The computer closet has electronic stuff for Paw and some blanket bags and boxes. The linen closet is full of stuff we don’t use. Paw’s bedroom closet is stuffed with unused blankets from the past.
