Maw and I just came back from EarthCareRecycling.com off Trimble Road and 101 in San Jose, CA. It’s a small place. And per the location online, I counted “6 driveways” from the left. It looks like an alley way. She was nervous with my driving because the tires to my car are under-inflated and for that fact that I was swearing due to talking and motioning with my free, right hand.
I like this place because they recycle computer-related items and more, including home/office electronics, small appliances and other acceptable items, such as vehicle batteries, shipping peanuts, bubble wrap, aluminum, and stainless steel.
A Mexicano handed me a pamphlet listing other places for recycling — cardboard, eye glasses, fluorescent bulbs, hazardous items, such as pain, solvents, etc., household batteries, large appliances, medical pills, paper and tennis shoes, too!
So instead of throwing junk directly into your recycling bin or garbage can, just go online and do a general search of your nearest recycling center, which may offer FREE pick-up if you don’t have your own transportation.

Today, I was dusting the blinds and vacuuming upstairs. BUT during my Lenten Season project, I also wanted to clean out the drawers and closet, which I did furthermore! I found old instructional materials for items that are no longer on our property and other old receipts, which I’m archiving right now and in color, too! I can’t let a good thing from the past go to “waste”. Get it? Hahaha!
In do so, I found lots of old phone wires, two old telephones, lots of Class 2 Transformers (9 volts), one router, two DSL modems, one mini-zip drive with its FLOPPY DISK program, and other Ethernet cables and connections. I put those in an A&F “brown, not white” bag, one flowery wine bag, one Starbucks brown bag and a blue Cirque du Soleil bag, which I gave to the Mexicano, who said they don’t give out receipts.
So this blog entry is my receipt of making sure the environment stays clean and ultimately the landfill doesn’t get clogged up with our junk.
