I don’t know who chose my name. Perhaps the naming convension for Filipinos was a common practice (and probably easier to remember and of pride) by taking the first letter of the parent’s first name and creating a name based on that letter. For example, if the mother’s name is Mabeline, then the daughter’s name could be Margaret. If the father’s name is George, then the son’s name could be Greg.
