Yesterday at around 11:07, we received an email from the baldy regarding the new location of our folders in the shared drive. Today at around 10:11am, we received the email from the dummy. As per my email message to the team last Wednesday, I’ve been dumping two of her spreadsheets into the shared drive. I don’t know why she can’t do it this way: This is in case the “email system does not work (and especially if the attached email files happen to be TOO large).”
So when I tried to process a “save as” for both spreadsheets it wouldn’t go to two former shared drives mapped from my local computer. I was about to send the IT a “help desk” ticket. But knowing that I’m smart enough and good enough to try on my own, I did it! After five minutes, I mapped the new location of the shared drive. I should be compensated above and beyond this “data entry” gig.
Go to >> Start >> My Network Places >> Tools >> Map Network Drive >> Select [Old] Drive: >> Paste path name of new location into Folders: >> Check “Reconnect at logon” >> Press Finish. Repeat as necessary for each possible shared drive, just to be sure you don’t miss anything.
