Last Saturday, I’ve got a rude awakening: People won’t take care of me when I get old. I now realize that the younger and stronger people will take care of themselves first before wiping my ass when I become incapacitated.
After speaking with Marianne, my second maternal cousin and offering her a new computer system so we would talk to each other via webcam last Friday evening, I thought I could retire in the Philippines in the hopes that at least one trusted relative would be there for me.
I feel that being in America is better because it’s a melting pot of different people and their cultural heritages; and I would hope to believe the caretakers are ethical and moral enough not to abuse its weaker and dumber citizens.
So for those who have a steady income, prepare for your future while you still have the strength and will power to work hard and save enough now so that you could be dumped in a nice nursing or retirement home by your ungrateful kinfolks.
