Well, the sunshine came out during Sunday and yes there were fluffy, puffy, clouds of white everywhere! However, the air was fridgid cold! And just before we headed out to go shopping at around 11:00pm, I felt there was enough time to give the five remaining parakeets a quick bath outdoors under the warmth of the sunshine. The water was FREEZING cold. But the strongest birds seemed to enjoy the refreshing water. Binky seemed to not respond much and later on I saw that maybe the birds were too cold. So I quickly dried the cage with Paw’s new white, cotton hand towel, which I got poop on because there was no way to avoid the stuff while cleaning and hosing down the cage.
As soon as I started assembing the green top to the white bottom, one of three single puff cloud blocked the sunshine! The air that was blocked off felt cold once again! It’s amazing timing because I had thought that I REALLY needed some sunshine, not just for the parakeet for for the other birds and wildlife that needed to dry off their feathers from the storms this past few days.
On Saturday morning during breakfast, there was a BIG brown squirrel! It climbed up the black iron bars of our sliding back door. The length from the tip of its nose to the end of its VERY poofy, bushy tail would be half of the sliding door! I quickly got out my camera but I had a hard time focusing the slow camera. And Maw had started to rattle the bars with a metallic object to scare it away as it scooted up the fruit tree and disappeared.
Last on that Saturday, I saw how soaking wet a single bird appeared. It looked to be a brown bird with black colored head. It could barely fly as it hopped from the top of my gargoyle stone cat to the old wooden vine near the pear tree to my left side. I took its picture as a couple of doves the other day too. They couple was sitting on the fence and near Shrimpsei’s CB.
