Maw has told me the stories about the boy’s friend, “Kwan” (or something called “Alan”), who shared his struggles in life:
- Getting transplants of BOTH kidneys!
- Buying a house in Milpitas, CA.
- Caring for his mother after his father’s death.
- Paying $40 co-pay for medical doctor visits.
“Kwan” had told the boy: “Take care of yourself. Relax. Getting sick is expensive. It’s not worth working too hard.”
What the guy said during lunch time was a slap on the boy’s face! The boy couldn’t participate in the intellectual conversation, except place his stupid wedding album in front of the guy, who barely flipped through the pages and continued talking to Maw.
“Kwan” went further to say: “I worry about my mother after my father passed away. Now, she is okay because of the religious activities, such as Bingos.”
I felt my heart drop, knowing this guy was sincere. He’s still single, too, and is as old as the boy. Maw, too, was saddened that the boy is so clueless.
His continues to show off by letting his ego and pride blind him to reality. He continues to seek validation via Facebook. The insecurity of not being noticed is so obvious. It’s sickening.
A few minutes ago, I went online to locate “Kwan” so I could tell him how glad that he is okay. But I see that the boy has hidden his “friends” from view by people like moi! I wonder why?
This is today’s message: Prepare for the future. Don’t let the vices of life lead you astray. We will all get sick and require medical money for any accidents and illnesses.
