The boy had called around 7:46pm and visited us unexpectedly and brought a bag of lemons because he was en route to home and felt ashamed for not hanging around with Paw during the Super Bowl XL.
The daughter of the stroke victim called around 8:15pm. We were told to deliver items of the stroke victim to the city and not to the “ghetto”. It seems her brother is “harassing” the hard worker for money; since she works in the city. And the stroke victim wanted to live with her daughter.
Of course, Maw got angry at this lost soul and told her to lock the door and gate so that her abusive brother won’t live in that house or else legal problems would come up their heads. Then again, Maw could just forfeit everything back to the government to avoid ungrateful relatives from claiming their share. And the boy called her mean for talking that way to “country folks”.
Then the ranting ensue with the boy getting the brunt of the frustrations from his Maw. His response is once again defensive and he makes no offer to try to maintain the relationship with his old family by visiting more often. But because he prefers to keep his peace of mind he does his own thing and disregards the old folks, who already doesn’t care if the boy (and like the rest of the ungrateful relatives) do not speak with them.
I get to play the two-faced, dirty rat. It means I don’t take side at the right time or say the right things. And when I do take a side, the other side is made worse than necessary. Do you see how mean people can get when they don’t get what they want or if their expectations of the other concerned parties are too low?
I’ve been labeled to have inherited traits that hard wires me to be an unproductive debater. It’s not good to corner me because I won’t participate with insane people who don’t get it. When people are too stubborn to change and refuse to see the truth, they would more than likely be violent verbally if not physically.
The point is: People are stupid, gullible and just plain opportunists. When they know the other person is loaded, they make an effort to be nice. When the person is too humble, then there is no need to bother them for something they don’t have. Either way it’s better to be alone than with the wrong person.
And frankly, I’m not happy being here and now or alone by myself in the end. As Paw has told me once in the past:
“Get busy!”
