After receiving a 2010 Form 1099-C (Cancellation of Debt — OMB No. 1545-1424) from the creditor located in Salt Lake City, UTAH (USA) yesterday, I called my debt settlement company to find out why the creditor didn’t agree that my account is “paid in full”. Had I known what to expect, the matter would have been handled differently.
Instead these morons decided it was a loss to be reported to the IRS and that somehow I mysteriously benefited from their practice of usury. The settlement debt company told me it was a “random [event]” and that there was no way to predict the outcome of this or any company’s behavior.
Maybe Sharia law should be implemented here in America for these types of business practices. After all, they don’t know why I assumed my credit card debt to grease the cogwheels of commerce in the first place. It’s supposed to be legal and the money they got really belongs to the government.
Now they want me to pay the government for the “savings”, which is really my hard-earned money to “save” the government’s butt in the first place. So that’s why the American Expressters have a weird way of handling debt.
They have to be Mormons, no doubt. What would I know? I’m telling what I think may be the truth. But no one cares.
