Day 12: Something you hope to change about yourself and why.
I hope to change my attitude. But since my DNA is too strong (stubborn and willful), I have to change my behavior first. And that goes without saying how important it is for anyone to “lift a finger” and “get the job done” at work or at home, no matter how difficult and challenging a task or how lazy or sick a person: There should be no excuse for not making an effort to assist others, too.
By extending your service beyond your normal routine, that’s how I envision everyone to behave. Of course that’s my suggestion and not to impose how helpful it would be for those with extra time on their hands to wash the dishes, to do the laundry, to pick up the food or children, to caring for the disabled or elderly.
My goal, for example, is to communicate my wants and needs and really mean it. Usually that is reduced by not having the courage to speak up loud enough and clearly enough to be heard and understood by those who love me to improve.
So I hope this year to improve my communications and listening skills by interacting more with weird people and getting a couple of hearing aids. Other than that, I’ll continue to blog my thoughts as if I were talking to people — my unseen readers. Creepy.
