A hungry ghost is a ghost that “eats” the emotions of living humans or whose actions are driven by emotions leftover from its previous life.[citation needed]
Pretas are believed to have been jealous or greedy people in a previous life. As a result of their karma, they are afflicted with an insatiable hunger [and thirt] for a particular substance or object.

Yesterday, the girl gave us food to eat: one cheese, two types of salad dressings, two containers of fruits – watermelon and mango. Today, the boy gave up two bottles of Japanese green tea to try. He plans to buy more if we like it because it’s supposed to help with cancer. Both are sincerely thoughtful people. My mind will go but surely my soul will not forget their kindness.
Eating doesn’t have to be for survival. Sometimes eating can be an addiction, which explain why some people are OBESE! For me blogging daily and spending money are two forms of addiction. These humanized actions eat at my soul. I don’t know when to stop no matter how many times `messages` have been thrown my way. I feel happy living out these destructive addictions but the end results do NOT fulfill my desire to be free. It leaves me feeling empty.
This could explain why there has been almost ten slong years of delays, snags and simply non-repayment of hard work from a troubled soul. Alas, TPTB do not see what they have done, punish the soul further or perhaps help the soul repay its karma. Whatever the case may be, both sides of the games hunger for more. It’s a sad cycle.
This could also explain why one soul tries to feed other souls who suffer the same fate of hunger and thirst, despite not having the financial means due to unemployment for the past three years and as a result is on the verge of going bankrupt due to unpaid credit card debt taken out UNWITTINGLY to fuel a previous set of hungry souls prior to learning of the latter set of homeless but good folks.
