Yesterday and en route from Maw’s blood work in the afternoon, we heard Fred Thompson (R) – Former U.S. Senator of Tennessee and Former Presidential Candidate – over our local radio station – KGO 810am. He was telling his life story as a teenager who got married and made children at such an early age.
His in-laws didn’t pay enough attention to him during their first year of marriage together. Eventually, he got to know his cool father-in-law, who asked him where he was headed and what he wanted to do in life. And Fred didn’t want to disappoint his father-in-law.
Fred attended college while working night shifts and arranged with his wife in taking care of his children. Fred became a lawyer and then of course an actor of “Law & Order”.
The three of us were amazed at the hard work Fred has gone through. And after hearing how he struggled during his growing years to prove that he could do more than retail and selling shoes, we thought Fred should have been president.
