Well, Pimon the parakeet is up and about, eating millet spray seeds on top of the playpen, which is over the girl’s cage. He has been sleeping most of the time. Maw said don’t release them. But because I’m stubborn, both the boys and girls are playing together, except Yeyo and baby boy, whose has not yet been named.
As for Maw, she has fallen ill since last weekend. Her cough is persistent as if something is stuck inside her throat. She forces up lots of phlegm from deep within her chest but is now on a 5-day treatment of antibiotics, which is her `last resort` to recovery.
It’s difficult taking care of sick people, who of course will make healthy people sick.
`Forgive me. But I appreciate all that you are doing for me. Please take care of your father. He is innocent for he doesn’t have any concept in life`.
~Maw to moi this morning.
This morning the three of us made `poos-puus` (or `aroskaldo`), which is basically porridge of sweet rice and seasoning of garlic salt and Rufina patis (or a type of Filipino fish sauce). Optional meat of beef tripe and chicken breasts were added for extra flavoring. This is the only foodstuff that she likes to eat when feeling sick.
