The words talent, skill and ability seem to mean the same to me. In my broadest understand of these words, talent means something that comes naturally as an inherited trait. Skill is an ability learned over the course of one’s life (or many reincarnated lives); while an ability may involve both talent and skill.
My hidden talent is so hidden even I am not aware if I possess any hidden talent. Even I’m surprised to learn that I possess the patience around children. “You’re so patient.” said Ruchille to me long time ago. Considering how I have the enforcement traits of Filipinos from the Batangas province, I’m actually very tolerate of non-conformists and those whose emotions wreak havoc on law and order.
If I could improve my hidden talent, I’d wish I had pursued the fine art of painting! That’s right! I could have made a fortune from my paintings by now and live off the fame of being happy with my career. For painters, detail is very important. And as creative artists, the view of the world can be quite colorful and full of texture with deeper interpretations by the viewers. Plus, the solitary and serene pace of painting indoors (or outdoors) afford time to reflect instead of living in a rushed and hectic lifestyle.
The only other skill or ability I possess is playing the piano, which is now rusty. I’ve surprised some people but most are not impressed because I have not been practicing. But since I have decided not to play anymore, my fingers are now dedicated to blogging. That’s right! Today, I noticed one click on a link on my blog. The link will show my true name because it’s an affiliate site to a source for alternative health solutions. The “good folks” on that site happen to play another form of TPTB. They have a solid network too. I’ve referred to them as Group B in my previous blog entry.
