For whatever reason, “Minh” has refused to seek medical attention and could have suffered severe heart attack. But she lived because she had two of four angioplasty for blocked arteries in her heart.
From 11:00pm to 02:00am last night, she was having symptoms of pains in between her shoulder blade. So the husband took her in to be checked late last night. He ran red lights and managed to get to a local hospital in ten minutes.
What if she had the chance to take medications and avoid such emergency situations? Who ultimately pays – the patient, the life insurance and/or the family members? Who is really responsible for making sure one’s life is taken cared of so as to not burden society and loved ones?
Perhaps, Obama and pals could stick something in their health care insurance reform bill to `force` (for lack of a better word) people to get annual check ups and take their pills. Maybe then people won’t have to wait last minute to get help.
