At 22:35pm, Maw made loud moaning sounds. I hollared twice for her to wake up and jumped out of bed. I saw she was fast asleep when I couldn’t wake her up. She was breathing deeply through her CPAP machine, though. I tried prying her right eyelid and then her left eyelid open but they were too heavy to open. She then struggled to open her eyes. I knew she was between worlds. But she had to come out of it herself.
`The wind was strong. It was pushing. I felt a vacuum sucking me`.
I believe she was either leaving her body or that her mind was mis-interpreting the suction from the CPAP machine as something that was depriving her brain of much needed oxygen.
But I took her vitals and found her:
- blood pressure read 137 over 65;
- pulse read 50; and
- blood glucose level read 97.
I wrote the above data on a piece of paper for Dr. St. Goar to take a look at for tomorrow’s doctor’s appointment. It’s her heart. The leakage has been seen long ago by Dr. Curatola during an angiogram procedure.
So she got up slowly and drank some orange juice after I helped her remov the CPAP mask from off her face. She started describing the ordeal and crying again. I rubbed her back and tried to comfort her.
`Please don’t be scared to be alone in the house when I’m gone. You are the light in our dark ages. You know just what we want and have been there for your Paw and me. Who will take care of you when I’m gone?`
I don’t know Mom. I was hoping Pete from Hawaii would have taken care of us by now… Sadly, like any promises, something or someone must pass… It has been that way in our family on my maternal side…
Perhaps, the boy and his wife would be there for us… The girl knows how to mange the family…
