During breakfast, Maw mentioned how her late niece Brihida (or Nene) complained about her mother taking things that don’t belong to her or not letting her husband, Senyong, go to the doctor. The tear jerking stories included:
- Grandpa Juan leaving his mean relatives, who wouldn’t give him a glass of water. He left everything behind, even a castle, over which a highway has been built.
- Grandma Valerian left everything behind, letting Pooring, her relative, take her share of the real property. She worked hard, never looked back, and had relatives who took turns looking after the old woman during her dying days
During Maw’s offhand remark to our relatives, who happen to be hanging out at Valley Fair on 11/15/2009, she said:
My money is to be given away.
Then Gignat, my tallest cousin yet, said sometime stupid:
You can give me your money.
I responded (several times with my usual excited gesticulation like most Italians) to the stupid girl:
How would you like living on a dead person’s money? That’s gross!
She said:
I didn’t mean it that way.
In my mind, that’s right girl. And as Grandma Val once said so long ago:
With your attitude of ill-gotten gain, that money will not last long.
With that said and while struggling with my pooping session on the toilet a few minutes ago, I was flipping through the pages of a booklet titled: `Some one Cares When You Are Ill`, a Revised Edition © 2003 by the Bible League.
On page 33 a couple of Biblical passages support a section of the booklet called, `Learning`:
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish it work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:2-4
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith — of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
1 Peter 1:6-7
To Pete and pals: Your days are numbered. You deserve jail time.
To the Demoncrats: Sharing the wealth is nonsense. Your works are of this earth plane. There is more than health care reforms that truly heals the body, mind and souls. Changing is impossible because most are too stubborn and fearful, too.
To the Reptilicans: Getting the wealth in nonsense. Your works are of greed and pride. There is more than taking care of the planet without using business as usual or status quo to keep from changing for the better.
