During my senior year in high school I weighed 120 pounds. This was due to not eating well. I tried eating no meat. And guess what? My acne cleared up, mainly from eating little to no oil or fat, that sort of stuff that’s clogging my system now.
Go forward over some twenty years later, I’ve gained more pounds, looked thicker and wore larger-sized clothes. I will admit I felt really sluggish, more tired and sleepy, if it means taking naps during the day, that is what I’ve been doing recently.
Wouldn’t be nice to go back to being the weight and fit in clothes during high school? I would! And if that means to cut back on food and exercising more, that’s been an on going resolution around New Year’s that never seemed to be fulfilled? Why?
It’s because Maw cooks ALL the time. It’s good to smell and good to eat when someone lovingly prepares food to feed the family. And we eat three meals a day with sometimes three to five types of dishes to choose from her cooking, take-outs or a combination of both.
Paw, however, has been good about cutting back on his carbohydrate intake (i.e. rice, a staple and familiar food among us ASIANS). But with Maw’s dismay and constant badgering on a count that skinny men look sickly, especially when extra flesh hangs on older folks, it’s difficult to say NO!
With the potential cut-backs on Medicare and Social Security, it will be to everyone’s advantage to eat healthier and live yet another day; while avoiding the pitfalls of paying higher medical costs to maintain sick and dying bio-units.
So before anyone’s systems becomes too clogged up with sweets, meats and other empty, nutritional treats, people should learn to eat a well-balanced diet. Start by avoiding canned soft drinks (including the ones with fake sugar) and any snacks that doesn’t look like fruits and veggies.
In other words, prepare your own food. Y’all save LOTS of money in the long run. For example, buying a sandwich is worth ONE loaf of bread! Buying coffee or juice is worth ONE container that will last several doses. Imagine being your own cook!
It takes lots of creativity to buy the ingredients (organic is preferable), preparation to get the shapes of the ingredients a certain way, and patience to cook and flavor. Personally, I’m a lazy girl and that means finding someone to slop me some chow – on demand!
But I digress! Although eating is fun and habit forming, getting fat is no fun. It hurts the body by adding more stress to the heart pumping to larger areas and pain to the joints bearing a larger load, contributes to stretch marks of the skin and, basically, makes buying clothes much harder!
So yeah, stop eating you bunch of sack-cows and be the thinner (not anorexic) model that wants to come out and show the whole world (and your children) what a beautiful person you are on the INSIDE as well as the OUTSIDE. Good luck with you weight, too. Hehe!
