Our home has already been marked by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. A green colored, State-Country Japanese Beetle trap has been placed on our rose bushes.

The white lable (in English to the left of the Spanish version to the right column) reads as follows:
STATE COUNTY JAPANESE BEETLE TRAP
LURE CONTAINS
Phenethyl proprionate
DO NOT DISASSEMBLE
If lure is touched, eye and skin irritation may result. If this occurs, wash skin with soap and water; rinse eyes with water. If irritation persists, contact your physician.
A phone number appears somewhere in the middle as well on the piece of paper provided as our resource.
In my opinion, this is trespassing. It’s because this insect detection trap containing fly insecticide. I DO NOT advocate the killing of small creatures (i.e. Japanese Beetle). They are beautiful with its copper-colored wing covers and a green head and body (thorax).
Imagine! A mere mortal, an Agricultural Inspector, placing poison to get rid of something similar to that of dung beetles (or scarab beetles). These TRESPASSERS have placed death contraptions of God’s creatures!
