C – HANG – E
WE CAN [MAKE] BELIEVE IN
This is what I see with the word CHANGE. Take out the letters ‘C’ and ‘E’ and the word becomes HANG. Now in order to ‘[make] believe in this change’, someone or something must ‘hang’. That could be giving up your freedom of speech or even the right to keep and bear arms for a measly $1,000.00 tax credit, which will of course be taxable, right? What is a measly forty-eight cents ($0.48) per hour in one year compared to the ‘basic minimum rate (per hour)’ of $8.00 in one year for the state of California, for example? The gross amount would be $16,640.00 instead! And that, my friends is much more than these empty promises of ‘free hand outs’ by ‘Barry’, the presidential candidate of the United States.
As mentioned in my previous blog, people by nature are too stubborn. I’ll use myself as an example based on certain characteristic:
-
Sex: I cannot CHANGE my sex. I was born as a female.
-
Age: I cannot CHANGE my age. I am born to live and then die. I have not ‘gone under the knife’.
-
Race: I cannot CHANGE my race. I am born as an ‘Asian’ of mostly Malayn origin.
-
Religion: I cannot CHANGE my religion. I was born and raised a Catholic.
-
Family status: I cannot CHANGE my family status. I am born into the ‘working class’.
-
National origin: I cannot CHANGE my national origin. I am a U.S. citizen since birth!
-
Military status: I cannot CHANGE my military status. I would have signed up with the ROTC during high school and have decided NOT to be owned by the government in this sense.
-
Sexual orientation: I cannot CHANGE my sexual orientation. Although I act ‘just like one of the boys’, I prefer males. Yum.
-
Disability: No comment.
-
Body size/shape: I cannot CHANGE my body size/shape. I am athletic and average, which means if I could fit into a bathing suit, not a bikini because I’m too hairy.
Now the above examples are physiological traits. But those who want real change, that would mean changing mind-sets and attitudes, like working hard and not depending on ‘big brother’ for free hand outs. I believe people will be lazier and lack creativity when government controlls every aspect of our lives. Thus, this would dampen the creative forces behind our free market (or capitalism).
Change won’t happen overnight. It has been done slowly since the hippie era around the 1970’s. It was brought forth by liberalism. And now our family units have been destroyed by the nasty upstarts, who would dare talk back at their elders and move on with their lives to live happily ever after and independently. And now the ‘prodigal sons’ are crawling back to their ‘parental units’ for help. Waah! That’s not change, that’s karma.
