Yup, I’m an idiot! I spent the whole day reviewing my posts online against my archives on my personal computer. If I could be my own webmaster, I wouldn’t be staying up this late and figuring out which posts was entered via WordPress.com or not saved to a word document on my personal computer and vice versa. I did the long way of navigating to my Dashboard > Manage > and selecting a month via the drop down menu labeled ‘Show all dates’ while keeping the default of ‘Show all categories’ and later pressing the filter button.
To find out if I could get a total count per month, I temporarily added an ‘Archive’ widget, which unfortunately showed posts that are not set to ‘Private’. So I deleted that and found that the result for each page has a total of fifteen rows. The only way I could find the total number of ‘All Posts’, which happens to be 1,369 for me prior to this blog entry (excluding my thirty-nine ‘pages’, of course), for each month is to click on the last page for the series and then add that to the fifteen rows for the previous pages to that month.
One by one, I created a separate folder in ‘My documents’ folder for each month and copied the old word document to match up with the entries found in my Dashboard. I may have lost some word documents of my original entries and had to re-create those from my Dashboard. I hate tedious work and ended up staying up into the wee morning hours of Monday. This is no big deal since I’ve little else going for me at home and work is nothing, which means there is no income or other benefits. So a free account at WordPress.com is my best option and outlet to let off some steam for the time being.
I best get some sleep or whatever else energy is needed for me to function normally for the following day of sheer nothingness. I really need to learn more of this self-hosted site at WordPress.org. Maybe I could find out how to do some mass uploads without the copy/paste method I’ve been employing to get my words archived and nicely organized. But I’m not tired one bit and will continue on until four in the morning. Bye for now.
