‘Maw’ has been told ‘Heir Doktors’ to avoid direct sunlight – the life giving chlorophyll to plants, the temperature raising warmth to reptiles and the overall well being of sun lovers all over the world. Her medications are claimed to do bad things to her skin of turning the once smooth and youthful, shimmering pearl-like skin into a canvas of spotted, brown freckles haphazardly thrown as blotches upon her face mostly or patches most noticeably around her eyes like a panda bear without much sleep.
Her protection from the exposure of direct sunlight varies as she remembers to wear according to the day’s activities. Her wide brim hat barely covers the bottom of her jaw line and is useful while riding in the backseat of the car. Besides the sophisticated effects of using an umbrella while outdoors on non-rainy days, the sunshield for the vehicle also blocks out the indirect sunlight filtering through the back windows of the car where she normally sits. She would wear her dark eyeshades to offer whatever protection against the brightest of sunlight that tend to hurt her more sensitive eyes after the two recent cataract surgeries.
The point is a normal person would thrive on the sunlight and not avoid the beneficial effects of Vitamin D that would be produced by the skin exposed to sunlight. One would think that the alleged harmful effects of ultra-violet sunrays would damage the skin or the body from too much exposure. This is quite the opposite as the body does require some sunlight for normal functioning, such as the softening disease of osteoporosis.
I have read that perhaps some people are not meant to live above ground where sunlight hits the surface as theses ‘entities’ are not quite human in appearance. As I read a few minutes ago from an article, there are those ‘insipid reptilian predators’ and how they cannot tolerate sunlight. In my neighborhood, I’ve notice lots of pale-skinned Asians wearing full face shields and covers of both arms and hands completely. One could see the slightest green cast of their skins, a mixture of the many blue veins showing underneath their yellow tones.
Regardless of the medication or race preventing a person from truly enjoying the sun, I am not alluding if ‘Maw’ could be something that she is not underneath all the old fashioned attitude of being nice to everyone or without the loss of control over those she protected from change. I would like her to stop avoiding the sun once again and regain the peace within herself and others who have done her wrong or hurt in the past. The tolerance of something so good is as welcoming as the following lyrics to a song ‘when the sun in the morning peeps over the hill’.
