So while eating lunch today, I see MSNBC discussing the possible merger between Yahoo! and Microsoft due to Google being a competitor. Well, first off I have so many e-mail accounts under those three and would like to see mergers between Google and Yahoo! so I could combine my accounts under one username. It’s a pain to have to log into Microsoft and AOL also just to see if my mostly empty e-mail boxes containing anything worth reading other than spam received from Nigeria, computer services and, err, enhancements for the male gender.
Microsoft is already a big monster, just like Cisco Systems, Inc. and its ‘Pac-Man’ like appetite of gobbling up lots of smaller companies. Overall, I prefer Yahoo! because it’s the most colorful one. The other three services (AOL, Google and Microsoft) are annoying and I would prefer not using their service at all, especially for chatting which I hardly use nowadays due to faceless chatters that may or may not belong to some enforcement agency.
I’ve heard Yahoo! is run and operated by the CIA and Google by some government. As for Microsoft and AOL, I have no idea but I just don’t like the layout for those e-mail and chatting services. It’s so busy to look at that I don’t log in as often as I’d like. My primary e-mails happen to be under Yahoo! The termination services for Yahoo! are much more efficient than AOL by far. I have tried Google or Microsoft because those are new.
I really want to merge all those older accounts or at least have a main forwarding address, whoever is the acquiring company so that I won’t have the trouble of memorizing my username and password. The security for my account is number one on my list of concern followed by ease of use for signing up and termination. I don’t bother with the advertisements because they get in the way of more important matters like reading and replying to any incoming e-mails or feeds.
