So I watched (and heard off and on through short naps) the whole televised cable programming of the New Hampshire Primary on CNN. To the surprise of many and after raising Barack Obama upon a pedestal to sit at second place; Hillary Clinton won overall. The votes went mostly to the Democrats with John winning the Republican side (this time) and with Mitt coming in at second, again.
Tonight’s speeches were ordinary: Barack Obama’s (who seemed not too happy and slightly teary-eyed) was once again the better with rhythmic chanting of positive affirmations towards change than Hillary Clinton, whom I couldn’t believe actually showed ‘human’ emotion yesterday by the slight sounds of choked up tears in her voice. I wonder if her ‘breaking down’ in public (and her husband’s public ranting) actually influenced the voters to wake up and think with their hearts, too.
To me, Mitt Romney is still a creepy ‘Stepford’ robot on one side; while John McCain keeps strumming his home grown image and repeating that cancer/health story, again! Huckabee seems normal enough; while John doesn’t look good with his cancer, honestly. The rest should concede now and let the top three for each side fight to the end. The losers could save money this way and donate the rest of their unused funds to charity and seriously to us all justice in this manner.
All I could add to this blog is that if Hillary wins the presidential seat in 2008; she could select Joe as her running mate; since Joe Biden does have international experience. This is your hint, people: I know that the country is not ready for change. If the change were to happen under the new administration, say, like pulling out ALL the troops from Iran, the ‘terrorists’ (whoever they are) would come back and mess up everyone’s hard work to secure peace against this mysterious ‘weapons of mass destruction’.
For example, the Philippines seemed to have gotten worse after the Americans gave the Filipinos their independence. I don’t know if the country has improved recently but as far as I heard the religious fanatics are crawling all over the once docile provinces. People no longer sleep with doors and windows unlocked. Iron, prison-like fences are now fashionable to some homeowners against the poorer town folks. This is an ironic example on freedom, eh?
And the Filipino people who were once ‘nicer’ are now much more selfish and greedy for money, even if it means to sell their lands once beautified by the tall coconut trees, now chopped down for oil and foodstuff and leaving but empty lots of tall, dry grass as high as the waist. The investors are planning to build a second hydro-plant right through my maternal ancestor’s land, by the way. And that could take up to 18 years to complete!
So the New Year of 2008 is ‘Just Beginning’ (as per a held-up sign I saw during Hillary’s speech tonight which finished on 8:18PM Pacific Time). The country definitely won’t hand over its administration to whoever won’t fit the bill of a ‘New World Order’ (whatever the heck this may mean for us all as a nation with whatever ‘hope’ is in store for the whole world).
A new world means giving up the old timers, their ways of thinking and adapting to the changes of the younger generation who will have nothing left in health care and social security. I see this change occurring slowly and subliminally via lots of black suits being worn by the CNN folks as if they were attending a funeral. (I’m being a cynic, again).
Bottom-line: Politics is a dirty and cut throat business, sold based on popularity but much nastier as the next super model, all dolled up and primed for the next showdown. The speeches by these candidates sound good to unaccustomed ears of the ‘younger’ generations but when reality comes into play, these well-seasoned ‘seniors’ are ALL windsurfers at best and will completely change their original course of actions after the elections are over and to suit their agendas. Y’all should know that by now! Wake up!
