Thanks, Sweetie! It’s more than perfect timing for receiving your red Christmas card with a couple walking among the snow landscape. I’ve caught view of that card placed in my wooden letter box by Paw who asked, ‘Is he your boyfriend’? I said, ‘No.’ This was around 04:15PM and at 04:18PM I open and read both the pre-printed and hand-written messages of the card. I may wish to send a Christmas card in return, too — hmmm.
About a half hour ago, the setting sun showed brightly from the upstairs window of my ‘green’ computer room. I stood there with my eye closed and ‘breathed’ in the warmth upon my face and kept thinking about you. The whole day was freezing cold yet the cumulus clouds passed by slowly as the clear by skies appeared gradually throughout the day.
Two other cards were received for my birthday today: one from the life insurance agent and my parental units. The first one had the following words ‘Life is a banquet and the cake is for you!’ on the front of the postcard. The second card was purple with flowers and without my usual money in it because of buying my new clothes on Friday after Thanksgiving last week.
The other activities for today were: eating breakfast; helping to set up the gas grill for Maw to barbecue my steaks of top sirloin and rib-eye; dropping of Maw’s prescription for her second cataract surgery on the left eye (the right eye was done in the middle of October 2007) at the local drug store; purchasing my makeup foundation and dark brown lipsticks; picking up my banana birthday cake; eating lunch; unhooking the 4.50 pound propane tank from the gas grill; purchasing around $15.00 for a propane refill; going to the hair salon with Maw for both our hair cut and her perm for $60.00 with $3.00 tip for each hairdresser; attending afternoon mass and celebrating my birthday party at home with Brat and Twit.
Brat bought me a stuffed black cat named Shadow by Russ for $11.99 and Twit bought me a Sago spongy cake filled with chestnut, flavored whipped cream. We talked a little; stuffed our face well with vegetables; pancit; steaks and garlic mashed potatoes (mashed well by’Maw’s loving hands, of course) followed by both chestnut and banana cakes as desserts (with cantaloupe on the side, too).
Twit helped to wash the dishes while I dried. Little else was said afterward as we said our farewells. We had to shut down the outdoors lights and figured the rows of lights for the front porch and fence was overwhelmed by our 60″ animated angel sculpture. Paw and I will figure out a solution to our dilemma tomorrow.
All in all the first day of my 39th year as a spoiled brat went well regardless of how Maw hardly says much to Paw after her moving upstairs prior to Thanksgiving. Yup, I understand that some relationships are meant to move onward. I understand in one year I’d better move out of my bio-unit’s house, too. We will see, though.
