I’ve been following the following weblink by the USGS (United States Geological Survey) via [http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsus/Maps/special/California_Nevada_eqs.php]. The Alum Rock, CA area is the closest to my home and getting more active with records around 1.0 magnitudes or so. The most recent big earthquake for Alum Rock, CA was 5.6 magnitudes around Halloween time.
My home is along this stretch of road, which is near the railroad intersection above the San Jose Municipal Golf Course. One may want to measure the ‘degree’ of the railroad against this road pointing to the Alum Rock, CA area. I tried measuring the roads with my makeshift protractor and came up with approximately 53 and 55 degrees. Oh, by the way, this name of this road is my middle name — my mother’s maiden name.
