Tonight’s hoedown for current and old staff at a multipurpose room located with Agnews Developmental Center at 3500 Zanker Road, San Jose, CA 95134-2299 went well. I have sustained a tummy ache from eating dinner and dancing too much. I loved the band of four, especially the tall brunette bass player. (I am fantasizing, here!)
The band was good and I think they heard me holler a request for ‘Hound Dog’ by Elvis. Some of us did the line dance to the usual beat of the ‘Achy Breaky’ song followed by three more long songs. They played the ‘Eagles’ and others that I forgot.
I wore a green and white checker board, half sleeve shirt with dirty, dark blue jeans and my ugly black flat shoes for the ‘cowboy’ theme of tonight’s event. Everyone else (mostly Filipinos) had the proper attire of cowboy outfits.
I especially liked Cheryl’s red outfit. She performed for Gene Autry and Roy Rogers among the few names I could remember. She did ropes tricks, whipped balloons and a button off of someone’s tongue, twirled pistols and gave participants first place, blue ribbons.
My tummy ache was also due to consuming not just the Armadillo Willy’s BBQ of half chicken breast, one rib, one slice of steak, one cornbread, one glob of potato salad, one scoop of sweet red beans, rice pilaf and vinegar salad but a few mouthful of dark chocolate ice cream and some watermelon, followed by more lemon iced tea. [Muurp!]
We arrived in error at Unit 81, where ‘Kali-Maw’ used to work and was directed by a Filipino man back to the multipurpose room located near Zanker-Northpointe Residential around 05:15PM. We parked at the disabled section and found a little trouble getting into the place.
A nice ginger-short haired, wide-bodied, white lady gave us three tickets at $10.00 dollars each last minute because ‘Liar Lunatic’ had failed to inform us that we could have gotten in free or at least had to have tickets for the catered meal. I gave that nutball woman a dirty look later on after getting my grub. And the three of us ignored that Filipina the whole evening.
We enjoyed ourselves, had our pictures taken and left the area around 09:00PM. I’ll miss the entertainers, especially the band. They are from San Jose, CA, by the way. (Hehehe! Awww. Shucks!)
Here are some more pictures showing a shiny ball in the ceiling and some balloons of cowboy boots. This is what happens when there is nothing more to blog on a daily basis. Each mundane event is made spectacular in my small world
