After all these years of worshiping with the masses and under the roof of a ‘church’, I have concluded that indeed my current Catholic religion does not appear as Christian as I expected. Besides the unbelievable passages from the black Bible, the very history of the RCC is full of violence.
Like the Roman soldiers, the Crusaders were warlike. With their military campaigns, people suffered and died horribly. The Inquisition was a time of more torture for those people who did not convert to Christianity. The Reformation led to more abuses by selling fear for more money.
Modern homosexuality and celibacy are other areas, which create vile opportunities for crime and sexual tension for those weak minded fools. And these should not be admitted as reliable public figures of the faithful. There are too many unsuspecting young victims as easy prey for these predators.
The recent sexual abuse cases and the $660 billion dollar settlement by insurance and partly by cash points to tolerance by this religion for those with pedophile tendencies are unforgivable. Jail time must be appropriated for these priests. Death of innocence is by far worse than physical death.
The emphasis on death seems prevalent while praying at each ‘Station of the Cross’. For whatever reason, people are to be reminded of physical suffering leading up to the time of death as a means of eternal salvation. The spirit is already eternal and yet people are forced to believe in proffering their money or volunteering their time to gain entry into heaven.
The Eucharist, or Mass, seems to be sacrificial with more overtones of death. ‘Blessed Be [God Forever]’ are familiar phrases used in Pagan and would be said after the priest raises both food (the bread) and water (the wine) each time. The priest does this ritual in remembrance of a final meal by a charismatic leader to his followers and prior to a death.
I notice that we are to believe that a large circular, flat piece of bread, or Host, is supposed to be the body of Christ and that the wine is supposed to be the blood of Christ. I did not know we should physically ingest an immortal being in this third dimensional manner. I did not know how we could spiritually benefit from this belief only.
The priest then would wash his fingers in a bowl of water as if to wash away any trace of imagined rotting flesh and blood stains from a sacrifice already done prior to feeding the people, or parishioners. I do not see anywhere in the black ‘Babel’ where these rituals must be done in order to commune with a ‘Christ’ in any way, shape or form.
There has to be some history tracing back to where people are to receive food from another individual’s fingers that may not have been washed or disinfected properly. Plus, sharing a goblet of wine with other people whose very lips may be crawling with all sorts of infectious diseases is very scary. I do not know why ‘God’ would accept these unhealthy practices as holy sacrifices.
Devotional and personal prayers are said via the intervention of angels and saints and sometimes directly to ‘God’. To me, this appears very egoistical no matter how many times a person prays for oneself or for others. I especially do no understand why people continue to venerate inanimate objects, such as statues and shrines. This seems to me quite idolatrous as per the second commandment: Don’t worship images of ‘God’, which has been conveniently combined as the first commandment.
‘God’ has been overly emphasized without due respect to a ‘Goddess’. The Catholics have also conveniently created a ‘Virgin Mother’, as a co-creator of the ‘Savior, Jesus Christ’ to remove imagery of homosexuality. A normal human female would have sexual intercourse with a male to give birth to a child the normal way. Artificial insemination is an alternative as to how someone could give birth without ‘knowing’ the gender counterpart. The words to properly label this ‘Goddess’ is confusing altogether.
My search for any answers regarding the correct or one religion does not fit my current beliefs. I am, however, to believe that the Catholic religion is a combination of many religions. I find myself praying the ‘Our Father’ in a modified ~Salat~ while standing up with open palms upward in front of my chest, followed by raising my hands upward above my head and touching my forehead afterward and, instead of shaking hands the Americanized way, offering a ~Namaste~ version of ‘Peace be with you’. Amen-Ra!
