20070613-Wednesday Thirteen

Wednesday was nothing special except me getting up early to go to work. My usual shower was done with the sunlight filtering through the opaque window to the bathroom. Too much time has gone by since I last had a chance to see the doctor.

By 09:30AM, I was able to send our in-house deposits via express mail before leaving work to the doctor’s appointment at 10:00AM. The drive was pleasant enough with the sky was noticeably clear blue, especially through my clean window. I could see the people drive by me nicely too.

My parking into the angled lot to my right was effortless as was leaving my car with some grace. Walking up the three brick stairs and down this small enclose lead to this the wooden door  — a creaky sound which slams as if not fitted well into the door jab.

The small quite office was somewhat dark. The receptionists seemed friendly enough, although a former person of Eastern European descent no longer works at this office. I sat myself upon a Fortune magazine with a man in a dark suit. This made a nice seat cover on the filthy dark cloth of the chair.

Other Asian Indian people came in casually – a small child, who looked at me with those big brown eyes, the old granny and two other males with slippers on their feet. In a few minutes I was called into the back but not hearing all too well where the lady had called me.

At least I joked with her that I didn’t know that I was to follow her towards the back. This is the sort of service one gets for a very small office. The appointments, however, are quite accommodating especially if a person has a bad cold, allergies or ‘flu-like’ symptoms.

I had not fully recovered from my two week episode with the head and ear congestion. As a matter of fact, I’ve suffered another bout of coughing with the nasty post nasal dripping into my lungs. The gagging sound was not to comforting to the nearby cubicles of my work.

In a few more minutes, the doctor comes in and sat down on her small stool while I sat upon this brown hard cushion of a table that was lined with white paper. Nothing has changed with the small room in the back except maybe for the two leather chairs with coasters to roll around.

She proceeded to do her routine summary of my list of complaints and the background of my family history to heart disease and other bodily ailments. Then my weight was found to be lower as well as the diastolic blood pressure reading at 73.

I was offered that female routine but declined because of my lack of activity in that area. Then there came the blood work request for the lab to process. With that paper in hand, I still had time to go to the lab afterward. I was starving already with my last meal taken last night at 06:30PM.

Soon, I was asked if I had a booster shot. I told her I remember having one around 1996. I did ask her if that vaccination contains mercury. She did mentions that the poisonous substance was indeed part of the ingredient but in a small amount.

Immediately, I refused that death shot because I remember vaccination causing autism in children as per a segment done by our local news KNTV. I believe I got loud with her but was reassured by the doctor, who her self was injected with mercury-laced vaccine, that this would help me heal faster and avoid tetanus.

She mentioned women do get vaccinated prior to pregnancy and not during childbearing stages. I wonder how the fetus feels after receiving its first dose of metallic mercury circulating through their systems prior to birth and into the real world of pharmaceutical, profit-making business.

Then off to the blood lab where I had trouble getting the Identification Number from the medical insurance. The lady with a thick accent was cordial and had to take my cellphone from me because the receptionist would not disclose the information to the cardholder, which I did not print out from the website as I was ill prepared.

The place was clean enough as I sat down to get two vials done today. Verification was done by the soft spoken medical tech, who was young, blond girl. Unfortunately, she could not locate my vein from the inside of both arms. Instead she used one my veins popping out from my left hand to draw the blood.

The day was unlucky as I learned that business will be slow for me because there is still nothing. Nothing for my hard work and nothing for putting up with business minded people with the business as usual attitude.

What I do know is mine alone and why I act up is an expression of my anger and hate. But I’m being superstitious and it’s not Friday yet. So we all should be safe for now.
