20070605-Daily Diary

There was hardly anything to do this day. The whole morning was relaxing as far as I remember. And I enjoyed a thirty minute lunch with two single folks from my aisles at the cafeteria. I had my salad of $5.95 inside a clear plastic container the shape a nice spherical spacecraft.

Then we left at around 02:30PM and just in time for the meeting at the old campus of this company. I did wear my ‘power suit.’  Actually it was a rather decent jacket of deep blue color made by Worthington. My slacks and shoes were cheaper. But the ‘Dooney & Bourke’ bag should hint at people I’m no slob.

A slob is the impression I would give at work because of my very casual look. I would wear my rubber shoes of white, dark bell bottom jeans and a vest that looks like armor. This outfit is perfect for me at work because all I do is sit all day and don’t interact with the public all that much. Answering the phones is another issue because that means picking that receiver and actually lifting my arm from a meditative position while snoozing at work.

I believe I was really sick on Tuesday because I almost fell asleep at my desk but with clearer breathing due to the free nasal spray from the doctor. As mentioned in my previous blog entry, I was hallucinating in my dreams at around 03:45AM on Saturday, 06/02/2007. ‘Kali-Maw’ said she heard me hollering in my sleep and my parents went up stairs.

I didn’t remember anything but I do remember getting sick and tired of working. My mantra every morning at work is ‘I want to leave’. But back to leaving for the meeting, which went well as far as presentation by two of three key finance individuals of this new company.

A manager with the red face handed out two of three jackets. Bob didn’t get his jacket but was kind enough to speak with me and a co-worker afterwards in an adjacent building where snacks, fliers and more people were awaiting to speak with each of the finance members.

So after overheating from walking to and from the parking lot, into one building and into the second one, I managed to call my friend to tell him that the meeting was nice. The only creepy part was waiting for people to ask questions but noone said anything. This included the managers and smarter people. They are probably not willing to look a fool.

I am a fool when I get too hyper and start talking too loud and rapidly as I notice from other co-workers who looked in my direction from the right and who were by nature soft spoken and calmer than me. But my fire sign would not allow me to simply sit still and be quiet.

I did share a few photographs of two cats owned by a collector. One was a more active ‘Tigger’ and her other one was calmer. Then the assistant controller with an obvious British accent came by and introduced himself to collectors and me. I kept looking and wondering if he is single since he had not wedding band on his finger. Soon I found myself briefly talking to a worker from India. She missed her home.

I talked to one other collector who was nice enough to get me a bottle of water and I tried not to speak too much but couldn’t help myself. He left a few minutes later because there was not much to say. I wanted to stay longer but that would mean talking to stranger from this new company.

That was all. I went home and did what I do best — greet my parents, eat dinner, clean the parakeets and run upstairs to blog the rest of the night.
