Today, the sunshine came forth through the closed blinds of my bedroom window and onto my face. I tried drifting off to sleep but I had unfinished blogs to compose. The sunshine was upon my miniature version of a museum artpiece, which is an rounded-shaped, black cat colored and formed from bronze and was given by ‘Squirrel-Ling’ on my birthday. Anyway, the sun rises more eastward and to the left of this tall palm tree one block ahead during the warmer seasons. I left the blinds closed because today would be another hot one.
Yesterday morning, I actually saw the sun rise above the hills of Mt. Hamilton, CA at 06:16:30AM. There I was standing at my bedroom window through the partially opened blinds. The sun came up slowly and I could barely see the outline of the globe. Of course, I had to turn my eyes away to avoid going blind but the brightness was not at all hurtful from behind these modern windows. The sight was amazing and all I could think of was the creation of such beauty with its golden glow. I normally don’t have time to do this sun gazing.
The skies have been clear and blue the past week and I have not noticed any cloud formations above whatsoever. There are some brownish colors in the horizon on some days. And the air is crispy clean and easier to breathe. The warmer days allows me to open my car windows during my drives homebound and I find that sometimes the air conditioner cools better when the air gets stuffy. Some people are enjoying the outdoors by jogging, biking and walking their damn dogs. Once again, I am a cat person and people should try walking their fluffy ones outdoors more often.
Last night, we discovered from ‘Squirrel-Ling’ that he felt he was being thrown out of our house, which is a bunch of hot air because he should be old enough to get out and live on his own. Technically, this is partially true but his presence back home is always welcomed if he ever bothers to visit. His unwillingness to open his door that one time I delivered his property and no matter how tired he may be from having fun outdoors are unexcuseable. It makes no sense for us family to make appointments to visit his house especially when we live so close to each other. Family is supposed to be there no matter how annoying or uninvitied.
I believe that the sun is a natural alarm clock and is there to wake us up from our slumber, which allows us to rest our body and mind. Opening the blinds or windows and looking at a sunrise once in awhile, if not everyday, are good ways to greet the morning. This also means to have an open door policy and step outside the house box to greet anyone, like the example of ‘Squirrel-Ling’ and me. The time it takes to do these simple tasks is easy. One would be blind not to appreciate this daily event because its always a glorious sight to behold. Besides, working indoors all day does no justice for people, like me, who could use a nice long vacation and soon.
