20060606-Voting Day

Today, I’ve voted in the Primary Election of 06-06-06. This was located in a local church near a post office. The outside of the building looked like an ordinary two-story office building with lots of windows. The inside looked very clean, brightly lit and mostly beige and white in color.

I had the Succor Punch pointed at the building from inside my car. I took some pictures of the middle words only and saw some wispy clouds hovering in the SW section of the parking lot. The front doors of this place were facing due west.

There were booths with empty clocks and various displays of books, booklets and magazines near the registration area. I tried to read the accomplishments of this fellow who wrote the organization’s book. His picture looked similar to one of my holistic fellow.

But I had to go to where the voting actually took place, which was inside the chapel of this establishment. The chapel section looked like a temple. There was a podium directly in front of the double door. The podium had the symbol of a cross in the middle of the podium.

Two tables were located to either the right or left. I guessed correctly and took left table because I didn’t know my precinct number, which happened to be 1414. The Filipino lady was first to help because she was the same one who helped my bio-units earlier this morning.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t find my name under this main roster and I ended up signing some booklet of permanent residence where they found my name with the help of the second worker. If I am truly FREE, I would not settle down in any one place or sign anything to prove I lived at any one time.

As I tried to get my electronic voting card from the third assistant, some Asian man make loud statements to my left. He wore light blue outfit of short sleeves, shorts and brown sandals. He had some gray hair with a beard.

I suppose he saw what had transpired in the difficulty with finding my ‘missing’ name. I didn’t have my booklet with me because I requested to save paper by not receiving mail.

He made an issue that the people working at the polls were not doing their jobs because they did not ask for either identification or pre-printed name on booklet.

I couldn’t understand why this type of person made a big deal with proper identification. He sat down as instructed because all electronic booths were taken. He mumbled twice underneath his breath that this is a joke.

If this is a joke, then he should not have participated in the voting or sat down next to me. I mumbled underneath my breath that it was too bad and that we are all powerless. I’m glad I don’t date those people.

As I waited sitting down to get my card, a brown haired guy, who was wearing a dirty green shirt and green cargo pants and who wanted to switch from being a Democrat to a Republican.

But according to the third guy, the voter was stuck with his chosen party and couldn’t change his mind at the last minute. There is no justice here again.

I was ill prepared as usual because my logic (just like Brat) is that we citizens are not entirely well informed to know exactly what ‘really’ would be the results of these prepositions and candidates. I voted based on background and names.

I cast my vote and saw the print out being rolled upward inside this black canister. I did not get my usual tear-off receipt from a card to prove I voted. Instead, I received a ‘I Voted Touch screen’ sticker to wear as ‘proof’ I ever came to vote.

I slowly left the building because I wanted to read the displays and memorize what I could never see again in a long while. I picked up an ‘happiness’ booklet to read at home and at my leisure. And at 06:00PM, I was on my way home with some pictures from the parking lot.
