“I think that Flynn’s dad had died”
Yesterday, I thought of Maw’s hairline: it is the shape of a widow’s peak. I’ve a feeling that Paw would pass on first prior to Maw. Paw already “died” on October 30, 2010 over the death of his maternal Uncle Julian on that same day.
“they were talking about old memories & other things as they moved stuff”
If we cannot take care of this old house since 1976, we might move out to a smaller dwelling, such as an apartment.
“whatever she said made me feel that I would offend them or make things worse”
Yeah, we are VERY emotionally sensitive. Thanks for understanding.
“one of his friends had recommended that he start walking more instead of using his wheelchair”
We encountered a Filipina friend of ours from the DeCA stores a few days ago. She told Maw to walk instead of using her wheelchair to get around even though Maw’s painful gout bothered her right foot/heel.
“he had practiced walking with his cane or walker”
Maw still uses the walking cane to get around our home and go upstairs. She only used the walker once upstairs to use the bathroom but pushing it around (with her weight being around 190 pounds) proved to be difficult upon the flat carpet.
“so many people at the same time needed crutches and I found it odd that so many of them were former athletes”
The boy has been doing marathon running ever since his friend John got partial paralysis from a bicycle accident. Most athletes get injured and are never fully recovered/the same — EVER.
