Philip: Good night, Flynn.
Barely audible and while seated at his workstation last night, the old fool said my nickname under his breath! Being that my hearing was already moderately bad, I might have misheard.
How did he know that? Hmm. The mystery thickened like my arteries because I could feel head pressure, a sign of high cholesterol, which I used to have but now I must get checked up.
But since I don’t trust physicians or modern medicines and as per Gloria who said that medicines can make you sick, I’ll pass on soon enough. I felt my body tingling the other night. In other words, my spirit wanted to leave this human form. I’m finished, seriously.
Today, Mike, the overweight cracker, err, reptilian, err, whitish bald guy used the word “ball” several times. I was at his desk as we went through the check receipt batches. He’s slow but loud enough and knowledgeable. He worked in the public, and prolly is just working this one-month temp job from hell for fun and not for the money.
That’s my attitude. As a consultant, I reached my pinnacle of appreciative work. Anything I do is meaningless fun and boring too. If I go homeless, that’s meaningless too. It would be a change of pace, honestly, if that ever happened.
Yesterday, a tall brunette dude said he owes me for being kind enough to provide him a right window envelop, which he didn’t need but of which Cherie had. I don’t know if that was meant for Cherie. But I mumbled under my breath a thanks to that guy.
Anyway, I was ready to leave at 1600. But Philip intercepted me. I hollered aloud that I have to go and pick up my mother’s medication. Then he brought me the bad news.
I was given the role to supervise Mike in the check processing! I smiled widely and say yes aloud and did something in the air with my hand. But I rattled on without listening because once again, he talked too low for my hearing range and I didn’t care.
All I could muster was something about letting Philip know if the old guy is worth keeping. I paused and mumbled, yeah, but then retraced and followed up with the word eval.
I’ll stay my new role tomorrow. I wonder if I could hand Mike the dump of the other functions that pisses me off, such as everything! Yeah! I don’t want too work, period! Didn’t I blog about that already?
So if the cash receipts pile up at month end, so be it. I’ll let Philip know that the workload is too much for me. I should just quit. I only did that once at a temp job and the agent slammed the phone in my ear. Ooo!
I really don’t care about the new temporary role because it’s not worth the stress. It won’t make me happy in the long run after losing everything around the 2008 market crash. I don’t like leaving work unfinished!
