During elementary school, we ate lunch which included protein, dairy (sometimes goat milk), dessert and veggies. I remember loving the taste of green beans, salty and soft. But because I wanted to fit in with my other class mates, who didn’t eat green beans, I threw away my share. I felt bad about wasting good food.
Today, I enjoy fresh green beans whenever given the chance, either frozen or fresh.
Here is a recipe to make your green beans taste good:
- 1 tablespoon Rufina patis (a type of Filipino fish sauce)
- 1/8 wedge of onion (separating the wedges)
- one inch of ginger (SMASH it (with a mortar and pestel) until somewhat pulp)
- pot full of water
- boil to preference
