  • Diminishing blogging returns…

I am experiencing “diminishing (marginal) returns” on blogging. Posting more frequently doesn’t give me the return I had expected in the long run.

Posting daily only give me a temporary high until I need to check my emails and comments for any sign of life.

Replying to lots of Comments recently by “Jr” doesn’t make blogging any better than before I realized there were other people blogging.

Subscribing to their feeds and comments was actually tedious and while I tried to “Like” their posts, I didn’t really care.

The value of publishing contents is no longer appreciated.

And the increase in Post Views, Search Terms, Clicks or Referrers doesn’t tell me anything.

  • Positive affirmations…

  • No help…

I have more suggestions for WordPress.com but the Contact Support link doesn’t work! What’s going on? Am I being intentionally LOCK OUT from improving my weblogging experience? That’s it! I’m not getting anywhere here!

If you want to help, make sure the [Search] button works! Where do I go to submit a complaint — the Forum? Why do you want me to make my ideas, suggestions and troubleshooting public?

    Why isn’t this feature working?

  • Just a blog…

I’m really not feeling my weblog. When I registered the domain name and transferred my old blogs into this current site, I narrowed it down to “The Blogging Path”, which sounds catchy but not meant to be the “ultimate” influence of any one blogger. I wonder if the site name should just be “Flynn’s Path, with the Tagline as “A Journey into Blogging.”

While searching for the definition of journal, I’ve read some quotes on the word journal and found some of the best writings and flow of thoughts compared to mine, which is mostly amateur.

  • 20110731-More Spooks

I noticed that my “spam comments” in my weblog site has increased for the past few days. Thank goodness the Akismet system is able to dump the naughty ones into my “spam folder”. All I could do is “Delete permanantly” and forget about it.

But I cannot forget an article that “discloses” how one could tell if these emails are from “spooks” via Yahoo! and/or Google/Gmail. The usernames of the emails are created in such a way to designate “their family origin”.

Now I don’t if I should believe “Beavis”, the “native” and/or his side-kick “Butthead” the fake blond for calling him and others as “spooks”, who “campaign to poison reputations”. It’s not like they are paranoid individuals.

Well, it took me longer than five seconds to answer because I was filling out this blog entry!

  • Testing theme options…

OMG! I just sampled four colors from the “Clean Home Theme Options”:

    • Light — Lightens background image. Red header fonts.
    • Dark — Blacks out the background image.
    • Snowy — Washes background image. Blue header fonts.
    • Sunny — Warms background image! Brown header fonts. I like this one because I can see the image better! But I think the reading might be more difficult than with the “Light” color scheme.

    William-Adolphe Bouguereau's painting The Shep...
    Image via Wikipedia

I am currently trying Theme: Clean Home by Mid Mo Design. This is the ONLY WordPress.com theme that works well to allow SOME transparency to the background image of “The Shepherdess (1889) By William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905).

Other themes, such as “Koi”, “Liquorice” and “Neutra”, allow for full transparency of the background image but it makes reading difficult. With “Clean Home”, one could barely see the image without using the “zoom feature” or compromising the reading.

The “zoom feature” of my internet browser handles well (either “zoom in” using “Control and Minus sign” or “zoom out” using “Control and Plus sign”). By using the “zoom featuer” one could see the background image in it entirety.

For the “Display option” found under the “Background”, I set the following:

    • Position Background Position — Center;
    • Repeat Background Repeat — Tile; and
    • Attachment Background Attachment — Scroll.

  • Testing background…

At 3:13am, I finally logged into my computer. A thought occurred to me: I want to try a nice background for my theme. Unfortunately, the size is too big and only the mugshot is the prominent feature to the weblog. It looks like though. But I’ll have to test the themes, too.

Wow! That’s insane! I’ve gotten one-thousand comments, most of which are mine from the past. I wonder if WordPress has an archive for “comments”, just like for “posts”. My idea! Copyright! Whatever.

  • 20110729-Trying Theme

“Evil kitty” has been angered and thusly changed her WordPress.com weblog theme to the dark side of red, orange and black colors. “Trolls” have infiltrated the serenity of blogging. No “nom-noms” can make “evil kitty” happy, now! “Evil kitty” will scratch furniture until appeased. Hiss! Hiss!

  • Adding more subscriptions…

Recently, I’ve been “Subscribing” to WordPress.com bloggers who have been so kind to comment on my blog. Some “related articles” were referred on their weblogs via pingbacks/trackbacks. My “Site Subscriptions” are “managed under the subscriptions tab on the WordPress.com home page.” And some are also added through another popular site that provides a reader feature.

If only I had the PATIENCE to read more articles in depth and reply with a short comment or “like” and if only I had ALL the TIME, then surely that would count more as a member of the blogging community. After all, it is a two-way street. I say something and another party has something to reply.
