  • 20100128-Death Shot

Earlier this morning we dropped off large fruits of pomelo in front of Ben and “Minh’s” house. Maw had told Ben about the harvest from our backyard tree and since we couldn’t find the stick that reach over to ring their front door bell, we left the bag and got a call from “Minh”, who was still sounding sick.

    • “Minh” had accepted the H1N1 flu shot and is still sick after a few days of receipt of this death shot.
    • Maw had accepted the H1N1 flu shot and in a couple of day got a high fever of 102 F degrees. Dr. Kenny Chen was her primary care physician, who administered Maw’s death shot.

But Maw claims people will get over the effects. I thought to myself: Idiots. You people could have declined because there was no long-term study done on this formula to find out if it worked or not or cause other health-related illnesses.

  • 20100128-Chemtrail Day

The skies this morning was clear but light blue in color. After mass, there was a single chemtrail DIRECTLY over our local mass. Immediately, I knew that the chemtrails were the direct result of people feeling dizzy recently and probably during the past two weeks of rain in the Bay Area.

When we got home, the sun shone VERY brightly and felt quite warm to my face that I decided to give all seven of our parakeets a much needed bath as a month or so of cold weather. The three cages, four boys, two baby girls and one hen, were brought out for cleaning while the birds inside took their shower.

The boys enjoyed their showers. The three females didn’t care. Drying time was easy and I moved VERY slowly, trying to avoid scary the wet birds. For about ten minutes, they soaked in some sunshine until the popcorn clouds moved in from the south and covered the sun.

Maw planted her rooted garlic, green onion and three `gabi` bulbs into big plastic containers. I had to help, of course, and moved other plants out of the way to make room for these younglings. I argued the fact there is a grocery store conveniently located for purchasing these same foodstuff.

Gardening is enjoyable; yet, in my mind, the cost of buying soil and fertilizer and of taking time watering and care for these plant life is much more than buying food readily available in the local market. Sheesh.

  • 20100127-Hyper Parakeets

Well, since yesterday, we had to separate the parakeets. The four boys get the big cage. The two baby girls get the black cage. And Yeyo, the golden blond chick, gets her own small purple cage, in which Bugsy was transported from his former owner to us.

Maw caught Bully-Boy going on top of Yeyo, who tried to shake him off. The alpha and VERY protective purple male, Bugsy, tried to intervene but the much BIGGER, turquoise Bully-Boy launched himself at the almost human-like Bugsy. Simon and Pimon are brothers and get along fine. But this afternoon, I saw them fighting with each other, necks stretched upward and one foot from each clawing on each others’ wings.

Originally, we had the three females together. But because the six year old Yeyo was in too much heat and attacked the two other baby girls, I had to separate her in another cage. Now I have three friggin’ cage to clean out! My god! These are just seven parakeets! What would happen if I had REAL CHILDREN to care for?

Peace has been brought upon the parakeets. But they are still as talkative as ever, especially Bully-Boy who is two years old. Bully, bully, blah, blah, blah… I love them!

  • 20100127-Projecting Problems

I picked-up the boy at his work around 14:30pm. He was sorry to have bothered me as a taxi cab driver since his wife was busy at work to finish a project that must be completed at 95%. The point is that the wife is really and primarily responsible for her husband, who needed a ride to the auto shop so that he could pick-up his repaired car. It’s sad that she is not flexible enough to drop whatever needs to be done at work and take care of her NEW family, the boy in his time of need.

During the ride, he started stirring up controversy. I believe the boy was projecting his problems in his marriage when he mentioned his own parents not having a perfect one. My first impression was how he noticed his father mistreating his wife during the growing years. The boy mentioned how he should be less like his paternal side. I replied that he cannot avoid what he is and what he saw in the past.

For whatever reason, he mentioned his cousin Shill’s 7th anniversary with Jov via her Facebook.com. Honestly, I’m her oldest paternal cousin on our father’s side and I don’t friggin’ know or damn care if they got married by the judge, seriously! Twice in the past and in HIS face, I asked Jov, her then (and still?) boyfriend, if he would marry my cousin Shill because she is good. But the buckteeth geek with the eyebrow tick said: ‘NO! NO WAY!’ I was taken aback at his insensitive response, which sounded like a `Goober` from the `Andy Griffith Show`, if you will.

Recently, the boy has been including Shill as an example in his conversations. I wonder why he would care what is going on with that nutter of a cousin. She already expressed sentiments about her reservation with getting married due to her coming from a divorced family (like Jov did) even after I told her over out last phone conversation years ago about her just living with a companion because it’s not good living alone with her mother, who really owns the house up in San Ramon, CA.

Anyway, I tried to explain to the boy that Shill cried during Shell’s wedding because Jov would NOT marry Shill and not out of jealously and typical of any emotional single, brides maid like Shill – as per the boy. But because we believe Jov saw something not good with Shill. For whatever reason, the boy shut me down again for expression what MY KEEN OBSERVATION indicated; for he said girls are all the SAME.

I told him I’m like all his paternal relatives, not meant for marriage because dealing with problems in relationships is complex. I compared myself to aunt Malnorm who never had a child. And the fact that most of us just get married without giving a damn, as long as there is someone to pull our weight around. That’s why cousin Joh got divorced. His mother already saw something wrong with the girl.

The boy later blamed us old timers again about allegedly losing a $300.00 automobile piece that could have went towards the repair of his car. But since it’s his word against our, it is not good for us to continue a relationship with someone who thinks the world is against him. He chose that path.

  • 20100127-Keep Busy

What does being unemployed feel like? Last night, I was chatting with my cousin from Philippines and here are two of my responses:

`[Yahoo! ID deleted] (1/26/2010 10:34:49 PM): it’s like staying in a nursing home, being old and wanting for death!`

    `[Yahoo! ID deleted](1/26/2010 10:35:04 PM): working keeps person busy.`

It’s better to work even part-time or have a some business on the side line and at home, too. Without the incentive to feel worthy or appreciative of one’s ability to do something for one’s life, there is stagnation. And the mind rots from lack of motivation and enthusiasm to life and living.

The spirit is willing but eventually the body deteriorates from lack of employment, sitting all day in front of the television and eating fatty and unhealthy food. The body is meant to work moderately and not too hard or else the stress level factors in a death sooner from medical complications and a life of no longer that to longevity.

  • 20100126-Weathery Ways

The whole day was cloudy and cold. After lurking online, I viewed a dedicated blogger’s new YouTube.com video site and came across links to some pranks.

Then at around 16:40pm, the SUN came out and shined VERY brightly through the west-facing windows upstairs into my computer room! I believe my laughters at those video pranks have reached the high eavens; thus the weather appeared to have cleared up to light blue skies overhead.

The haziness was slight at first then long horizontal clouds started to blot out the setting sun. I recall this event because Maw had enough sunshine to pull out around five pieces of small white hair from my head. Then the brightness of the sun dimmed to as if it was this morning – behind gray clouds.

  • 20100124-Missing Parts

Which is worse – losing one’s mind or a $300.00 part for a car? I’d say getting old and forgetting where old items were placed are worse. It’s equally sad when someone forgets where he is, who he is, the people around him and places, too.

A few minutes ago, the boy came over and delivered three LARGE bagels with melted cheese. These were nicely staked inside one of Maw’s plastic containers, which she KNEW was missing. Her memory is sharper than mine, which is no better than Paw’s.

So the boy went through our garage and to the exact spot where he claimed the missing part was originally located. Then he went home and in a few minutes, called and accused us of purging even possibly his bicycle helmet, which may have been give to either Robin or his sister.

Now, how many people went in and out of his house? Perhaps, his in-laws are taking things without his knowledge. Maybe his wife threw away some of his stuff after he threw away some of her belongings. But that was a long time ago.

So I hung up the phone, not appreciating the fact that we old timers with old memories were accused of losing his property, which he claims to have forgotten to take with him during the move into his new house over three years ago.

All I recall is placing a bunch of boxes with his stuff in front of his house long ago because he wouldn’t open the friggin’ door. I also recall him retrieving a BIG, yellow-colored, plastic container (which was formerly the city’s recycling bin).

He tends to forget where he placed his keys. So that should be something to consider in light of this afternoon’s disturbance of the peace. Maw was sleeping on the sofa at that time, by the way. She pretty much ignored him, knowing that his intrusion wasn’t really about us, after all.

  • 20100124-Auto Refill

Maw got an automated phone call informing her of her prescription, which has been discontinued by her physician. The prescription was set as `automatic refill`, which means CVS.com could charge automatically to the health insurance. But because the patient forgot to inform this particular pharmacy that the prescription medication had been stopped by the doctor, the drug has been refilled and is ready for pick-up.

So this is one area that could be part of Obama’s health care insurance reform: Allow the doctor and pharmacy to communicate any changes with the patient’s precription drugs in case the patient forgets; so that Medicare or whatever supplement health insurance won’t pick up the extra cost and so that the pharmacy won’t have to waste their time preparing something for nothing!

Next time the clerks from CVS.com asks you if you want your prescriptions filled automatically, make sure your drug is `permanent`. Otherwise your health insurance will be charged automatically.

  • 20100122-Bad Battery

The boy called for a ride to work this morning but we were at morning mass (as usual). The rains fell VERY strongly during our ride home. Afterward, we had breakfast at home.

Then out of nowhere from and usually whenever my mind relaxes, I screamed: `Mom!` This means (and WITHOUT fail) that I picked up a future event: a visitor, the boy, who later called around 10:30am for a ride from work and back to his home.

He requested that I bring Paw’s jumper cable, all shiny and new. So I decided to put air into my four of my under-pressured tires because I could feel the uneven and bumpy ride and the humming sound of the deflated tires rolling over the road.

Then I hoped that my battery had enough charge or juice to start. The sound was weak and slow. But my car started. The `CHECK ENGINE` was still there since 12/24/2009 and at the off-ramp from north-bound I-880 to my temporary work up in Union City, CA.

But I managed to pick-up the boy from work (after turning around the parking lot 2.5 times, drive him home and help trouble-shoot why the car wouldn’t start. We determined it was the battery.

We thought my battery was dead, too after I wasn’t able to crank it to start. I tried several times and the boy tried calling his wife, who was away from her desk at work. But I relaxed my mind and scanned the possibilities: I clicked off my locks and clicked on my locks again.

This technique worked to `unlock` the security to my car. For, you see, the Chapman car alarm was installed to lock out the started. The ignition turns but if anything messes with the electrical system, (like what happened with the battery), the alarm locks out the driver.

So we went on our merry way, got his new battery while I waited in my car to give more juice to the battery, revving the engine periodically for about 10 minutes and went home to install his new battery.

The point is: If anyone is going to upgrade their car that drinks too much from the battery, make sure you have a ride. Without a ride, there is no way to take off lunch and buy a new car battery.

Anyway, the boy came home to get his iPhone, which I had in my jacket pocket. Of course, he stayed for awhile and actually ate lunch with us and is usually unannounced but worth the while when family help each other in times of need.

  • 20100121-Pathological Lyings

After chatting with my cousin Yesha from overseas in the Philippines late last night, I’ve concluded the desperation of poor socio-economic conditions of that place made her lie, just like everyone else, who are TOO lazy to work hard.

The last time we chatted online or rather when she talked at length to Maw for more than three house via webcam was on December 1, 2009. At that time, she had told a story about how an old woman, who was stranded from the flood downstairs.

Yesha invited the old woman to live with her upstairs until the flooded waters below receded to safer levels. Yesha claimed the old woman stole money in the amount of 3K from her, after a dinner out unknowningly with her OWN money.

Then last night, Yesha also made claims that she lost 8k from an unknown someone, who stole her wallet. I reported this to Maw, who scolded me for now answering my cousin back. I should have asked Yesha:

    • Why do you keep telling us you have money stolen by strangers?
    • Why can’t you hold your money better and not loose it next time?

I should have asked my cousin:

    • What happened to the money we gave you for the Australian VISA?
    • Why do you keep telling us your problems with finances?

And there were THREE others whom I met online that uses the financial tactic for various reasons:

    • I’m afraid to die. I’ll pay you back.
    • He is asking for a blue business suit.
    • One of our guys is stuck over there.
    • Don’t let the authorities know.
    • We’re starving.
    • You’ll get your money back. I promise. It’s guranteed.
    • My foot is about to be amputated.
    • My hemorrhoid operation is US$500.00.
    • I sold your jewelry gifts for money and you need to get it back.
    • I miss my grandson but don’t have money.
    • We sold your real property without your permission and you need to get it back.
  • 20100121-Purple Stare

A couple of days ago and around evening time, the three of us were saying the rosary (as usual). But I didn’t feel like closing my eyes or look at the sacred space, where a portrait of the Sacred Heart of Jesus hung, forever staring at his onlookers.

So I set my eyes to the only window facing the front of the house. Past a lace-like material hanging over the first steps of the stairways (and meant to keep the parakeets from going upstairs), I would see cars passing by.

The sun was setting but barely bright enough to cast some light of gold past the clouds of gray, rain clouds. I noticed that lots of cars were colored in white. But there was something unusual with the tinge of colors.

There was a cast of subtle purple or pink. And the hue was probably due to my eyeglasses sitting in an obtuse angle, up from my VERY low-bridged nose and away from my brows. I thought maybe the air was charged with electrified ions after a lightening strike might have made contact with the J—/Sensei CB.

I believe this had occurred because I recall the sound of the very subtle crackle, followed by a VERY bright flash through the sliding backdoor and upon Maw’s face, illuminating as she made a swiping motion with her right hand as if to to block out the brightness of the flash.

And in the past few days, I noticed how the attires of the news anchors on televised cable programmings are in the colors of red, pink or purple – ties, shirts, blouses, skirts, etc. I really don’t know why I notice these colors, considering how my weblog has taken on the background colors of muted purple and blues.

  • 20100121-Radio On

When Cabbage Jay passed on around the year 1990, we were at his house, along with his family and relatives. I recall sitting at a sofa, facing the television. The sliding backdoor was to the right hand side of me.

For whatever reason, I felt compelled to outside and peer into nothing but darkness while still seated at that sofa. Then all of sudden there was commotion in Cabbage’s bedroom, which was behind the wall where the television is located.

Lots of crying ensued, obviously from the distraught mother, Maldeath. Her sister, Malouse, was in the bedroom, too. But I continue to sit there patiently, wanting to go home.

Jor-el had told us that the radio clock had turned on by itself. The alarm wasn’t even set to go off. The time was between 1900pm to 1930pm. I recalled hearing Maldeath say:

`I know you are here, Cabbage!`

    Creepy.
