  • Trying to help…

“I was only trying to help my auntie!” As per a Facebook message by a relative.

That’s why it is NOT good to post on Facebook. Right there, the stupid boy admitted to guilt. I wonder what the boy did with the rest of her money!

Addendum-Last edited on 20110511 at 02:57:15 AM UTC: That’s why it is not good to help or to do business with relatives. Bad results is not auspicious: Relatives can be violent and have been known to kill each other.

  • Foolish Filipinos…

There’s one thing to let the whole world read about bragging rights and other nonsense. Blogging anonymously has its benefits and that’s privacy. Why I’d happily blog about petty annoyances in my life to humor complete strangers. And opine about many others, too.

While I have avoided posting anything on my Facebook wall, I’m tempted to share this blog too and make my stupid relatives realize they are fat losers who do nothing but compete with each other.

That’s right! Filipinos like to show off and are not the most humble of people too, especially the spoiled brats who are born and raised Americans. They forget where they came from and how they became spoiled in the first place.

So you won’t see me publicize my blog or activate other accounts with this one. It’s not worth the risk or embarrassment.

  • Your problem…

“That is your problem. That is reality.” Said the boy to his elder sister during his surprise visit for lunch today at around 11:30 am.

Having said that, he is absolutely selfish and has taught me that if he can be so unconcerned and so supportive, the girl can take care of him. After all, they both did take a vow — to go through crap (until death).

I was describing how relatives don’t seem to care. He sure has inherited these unfavorable traits. Time and time again, he has reminded us that he has a new life with the girl and his Facebook friends. But he still has that old attitude and will never change. Why does he even bother coming over to show face in spite of the reality of denial?

So let him be, huh? Sad.

  • Happy Mum Day

In the Philippines, there is no mothers day, except flowers to the Virgin Mary. There is no fathers day or children’s day either.

Only in America and business as usual of flowers, cards and food. And depending on the mood, hugs and kisses.

I’ve been told that Americans celebrate such occasions due to living far away geographically and far apart emotionally. This would apply to other popular holidays, such as New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Today went well. The five of of attended morning mass and ate lunch at home. At around 2:15 pm, the two-some left and the three of us went shopping at the Payers Nursery for more bitter melon plants to grow out back. Instead, Maw got one red cactus plant and three vegetables for planting tomorrow.

  • Dealing with Illegal Naughtiness

During the long three hour visit with an elderly Filipino couple recently, the old fart told us of how certain Vietnamese parishioners tend to “fib”. In return, I told the old guy how opportunistic they and the Chinese are — by giving food in the hopes of getting something good in return. They are also very well “informed”. By that, I mean that they would asking “frank” questions or phrase their stories so that you could share yours. Of course, he cited examples.

One Viet would sit at the frontmost pew. She would leave earlier and argued that she had to work. She was seen casually walking around slowly. Leaving early would upset most priest, one of which would be seen visibly shaking his head in disapproval.

A couple of Vietnamese ladies sit towards the backmost pews. They would talk constantly throughout the service. There were told to shut-up or leave. One Viet took a cellphone call and argued that someone “died”. She was told to shut-up and take her conversation outdoors. In both instances, it is not polite to talk or use the cellphone during the service.

Tip of the day: Don’t give out too much detail of your life. That’s what I mean by soft tyranny from within — degutting the clueless slowly until feeding time. Tell them the facts by saying as the old fart once said: While you were “fresh off the boat”, I was here first and paying my taxes. Therefore, this place is mine.”

Here are a few notable words of wisdom from “Uncle Ben”:

“I don’t have anything to do with you. Since we cannot work well together, please leave me alone. Go away. Now that you’ve upset me, I have to say five rosaries just to calm down, cleanse my conscious and ask the Lord for forgiveness.”

“You can lead a donkey to water. But you cannot make it drink the water. That’s how illogical these people operate. Morons.”

“There are two only things left in America: taxation and debt.”

“In the Coptic belief, one lady told me of how Jesus descended into hell to retrieve Adam and Eve, along with the descendants into heaven. That’s why it’s important to pray for the souls in purgatory and most especially in hell.”

“Dear Son: Now that you are married, you have to live with the consequences that I have warned you about — the girl is rude to you and your family. Her priority is her family and not you. Instead, you choose to disobey our wishes and pursue your desires. As a result, you must NOT divorce her for the sake of her daughter from the first marriage and your daughter with her.”

  • 20110423-Wisdom’s Words

Here are some more notable wise words from Maw:

    • “Don’t support anyone in for the long-term. If they are people who are truly in need, you have the obligation to be there.”
    • “Don’t be controversial. If you don’t agree and it goes against your freewill, you have the right to say so.”
    • “Don’t get into trouble. If you have to be honest, say it without regret.”
  • 20110414-Nice Guy

This morning Maw’s CPAP machine has been replaced with something better — one cord leading from the unit (instead of two) and an easier to open “toolbox” to hold the distilled water for the humidifier. “Andres S.” was finished at around 11:00am. The tall guy had nice light brown eyes. Maw told him to about George Washington Carver, Jr., an inventor: Andre likes learning about inventors. As an eldest grandson to the youngest granny, he plans to take up “nursing”. The guy will do fine, just for listening to his mother and granny.

  • 20110404-Daily Post

When the boy left home base on May 1, 2006, I was the happiest adult ever! I realized that I could actually “clean house” and arrange it according to Feng Shui! Gardening and house chores are easily done without complaint on who needs to take turns because I’m the only one who could speed up, compared to the elders, whom I still rely on for logistics and major decisions. With that said, I’m still a child around here and quite a spoiled brat, whose tantrum is still uncontrolled. That’s not to say I don’t get away with everything. For you see, I’ve been handed a $1,000.00 bill for usage of the internet of the home owner. I asked him to add utilities, water and food to the bill. So right there, I’m far from being a adult because if I were, I wouldn’t be homeless. I’d be more independent and probably happier, too, without the baggage of family responsibilities. Yuch! I guess I’ll never grow up: “Forever Young”.

  • 20110331-Driving Olders

Paw wants the three of us to attend morning mass early in order to get parking! I’m glad to be chauffeur once again to the elderly. It’s much safer on the roads especially when people don’t have jobs or health insurance. We don’t want a bloody mess of people everywhere, like what happened today. The radio hosts reported that someone ran over a rebar, which flew through the air and impaled someone who was driving a car. She bled to death while the emergency crew extracted the karmic debt from her body.

It’s especially safer to drive when chauffeurs drive the elderly, who are not fast enough and VERY slow in driving, calculating the distance between the car and the front and reacting to dangerous obstacles on the road. That’s why I didn’t care if I had to be unemployed again.

  • 20110301-Eating Out

My tummy hurts! There wasn’t enough space for both the temp girl’s BIG bagel this morning and little Theresa’s 7-inch Philly’s Original Mushroom sandwich for $7! I only ate half and some of the “Onions Rings” and “Garlic Fries” for the twosome to “sample” tonight. She gave me the remaining share of the “Sweet Potatoe Fries” to take home, too, I know! The food will be cold but it’s still good!

Then she got me two “Marble Pound Cakes” for $1.95 per piece and a small coffee of the day at Starbucks. But Gary A. (the middle guy at work) took my bag in error! He was to my right but I didn’t take notice of his presence. At least he was slowly getting into his car while talking on the cellphone; and I was able to make the exchange. I told him that I missed including him in my “farewell speech” yesterday morning.

And within one hour from 11:30am to 12:30pm, we had finished lunch. The two bags of food are waiting in the car, which is cooking hot but it’s okay because it’s still good!

I tried repaying the temp girl with the loose bills from little Theresa but it looks like no one wants to accept my repayment for their kindness. So with all do respect, I could only send my heartfelt blessings to Mother Theresa, Mike the Greek God, the thoughtful, temp girl and whoever made me feel welcome. Oh! And to Steve: Smile and don’t be sad!

Despite my overall unfriendly tone of my blog, please disregard my frustrations. Y’all are nice after all. So that’s how it feels to interact with nice people who share food and support emotions. Anything more is not “needed”.

  • 20110325-My Bad

Call it a big ego or a generous heart. With my state refund, I’ve decided to “invest” it in a good way. That was almost 15 minutes ago. As normal business practice, I expect a proper but prompt response to the effect. No “dilly dallying”, please. Either you are being honest about your sad state of affairs or you are a damn bum. Such is the burden of being responsible for the “caring and nurturing of relationships”! And no “skedaddling” either! Chop! Chop!
