You’d think to “know someone or something like a book” with the chance for eternal salvation for the price of your soul. You’d go so far to “grease somebody’s palms” with the Leprechaun’s pots of gold found at the ends of a rainbow. You’d try to “have somebody in the palm of your hand” with empty offers of unconditional and undying love. You’d attempt to “have somebody eating out of the palm of your hand” with empty coffers of worthless ducrats.

For the past few days, I see that your “itchy palms” are itching for someone “to cross your palm with silver” — someone who is nice enough to extend “a helping hand”; for “a bird in a hand is worth two in a bush“. I’d take this to mean that I’d be a fool to let the joys in my life slip away now by expecting something or someone better later on.

Long ago in an ancient land, there was a beautiful garden. In that garden was a fountain of water. It gave life to the whole land. Two gardeners were caretakers of the place. Apparently, the big boss of the garden was busy with other activities.

The garden was lush and full of life. Trees, shrubs and of all kinds greenery grew. Flowers and birds colored the lands and airs. All sorts of creepy and crawling things came and went. Even the waters were teaming with swimmers and bottom feeders alike.

Alas! The gardeners worried about the big boss. He was taking such a long time to return. So they searched high and low, day and night. Years passed into eons and still no sign of the big boss. They wondered if he will ever come back or died.

But the gardeners continued their assignment until they got bored with each other and decided to go separate ways. One went east; the other went west. They agreed to come back coming from the north and the south; respectively.

One day, the east gardener was hungry and saw some strange fruits hanging from a wild oak tree. He has not seen that tree before and wondered how it got there. Out of curiosity, he went over to one of the low branches and touched the red fruit. It glowed. Its fragrance filled the air.

It so happened he picked the fruit and his belly was filled. His eye were open to various colorful arrays of energy of his world and decided to eat more and became delirious with delight. The more he ate the fatter he got.

Soon, he got lonely again and thought of the western gardener and decided to head back home with his newly discovered fruit. As agreed, he found her waiting at the water fountain. Only this time she was not alone. Standing next to her was VERY tall, green-colored snake!

He was so furious with blinding rage that the dropped his precious gifts to her and ran towards the both of them in fair greeting. An argument ensued because his jealousy overcame his normal level-headedness. But she merely laughed at him and wondered why he was still naked.

Obviously, he had not expected hatred to fill his heart and he lunged himself at the alien and killed it with one blow to the forehead. The creature fell down dead from the wound of the projectile — the red fruit which he had in his pocket.

The western gardener wailed in sorrow. And never forgave him for his rash decisions. For out of the hiding there came a couple of hybrids — her children from the creature. And the twins were deeply saddened by what had happened.

No knowing what had happened, the children told the eastern gardener that he had killed the big boss! In horror, the eastern gardener fell down on his knees and weep torrents of tears! The western gardener was shocked at this revelation! She had no idea the father of her children was the big boss.

All this time, both had been dedicating their, tireless hard work in keeping the beautiful garden for the big boss. Now that he is dead, all that they could do is move on with their lives. Sadly, the gardeners buried their big boss, said a few words of thanks and gratitude and decided to take care of the children.

Together they raised more children together and lived happily ever after.

Topic #49: Describe the perfect crime. A crime that could take place somewhere you know, or at a company you’ve heard of, or even in the future or the past. Something where either it’d be impossible to get caught, or that somehow no one (who didn’t deserve it) would be hurt. Bonus: by definition, is a perfect crime ever possible?

Let’s put it this way, I am trouble! Usually by playing it cool and by keeping a “level” head, I avoid getting into too much trouble with both law enforcement and government authorites. I do NOT cause trouble but have been called trouble.

“Here comes trouble!” said Sherry. The VERY tall, red-head used to work in the billing department of a company that used to be located in Campbell, CA but is now in Sunnyvale, CA. I used to work with her between the years of 1997 – 2000.

The only trouble that I’ve experienced was a recent financial and economic hardship. For ten slong years, I’ve kept my personal debt from my family. I had invested ALL my savings, salaries and cash advances from six of my personal credit card.

After losing my good-paying job in 2007, ALL unemployment benefits, too, went to pay off my credit card debt with little to no success. And by January 2010, the unemployment benefits were exhausted.

I had no choce but to sign up with debt settlement company in February 2010. I knew my credit report was ruined thanks in part to certain politicans and fellow businessmen.

With no more funds or savings left, I was lucky enough to land this “temp job from hell” on the last week of June 2010. Thanks to the generosity of my temp agency’s client, I am still working.

And after disclosing to my parents my situation back in Novermber 2010, their generous birthday gift to me last December helped eliminate my debt. I’ve regained hope and retained sanity.

With that said, I was able to help “my family” living in Southern California. So while I got into trouble, my parents and nice people helped me get out of trouble. And in return, I hope to help others get out of trouble.

Call me a generous heart and others Santa’s helpers. But it is by these very examples of how the “Golden Rule” manifest as reality:

“Do good and good will be done in return.”

Try it! And see for yourself, how good it feels to belong to a group of “good folks”.

  • Valentine’s Treat

Yesterday was good for me. Although I don’t have a significant other, my family has been the loving people in my life.

The wife of a big boss here made chocolate covered truffle(?) balls with red-colored piping on top. I sneezed twice in a row after swallowing the first bite. That means I’m still allergic to chocolate, no doubt.

Then when I arrived home, I saw a red-colored, heart-shaped box on the dining table! I squealed in delight when I saw cut-out of a gray, Siamese cat with blue eyes on the box. Around its neck, there was a raise heart-shaped jewelry piece and a red ribbon to “hold” it.

Of course, I ate two coconut pieces. There were eleven altogether but I consolidated those in a plastic jar. The kitty kat is now stuck to the refrigerator as a decoration.

After dinner, I opened my cards from my parental unit and the boy.

Here are the poetic words from a (“Between You and Me” card from Hallmark):

    For My Sis!

    Everyone needs at least
    one person in their life
    to whom they can turn
when their world comes falling down…
and in my life, that person if YOU,
    my wonderful sister.
I wish I could express to you
what it means to know that you love and accept me,
knowing all the things you do about me.
You’ve seen me at my worst,
    my silliest, my dumbest,
    and yet you always choose
to focus on my best self.
And nobody understands me, comforts me,
or can reassure me like you do.
    You’ve actually become
one of the best friends I’ve ever had.

    I’m so very, very lucky
not onlyu to have you for a sister
    but also such a dear
    and cherished friend.

Just a few minutes ago, I realized that most agree to incarnate as both a student and a teacher with a few exception of those being on either extreme of the color spectrum.

For example, although the boy continues to be naughty, he taught me forgiveness. I won’t forget the details because my blog is a testimony to those damn dramas.

I notice Lola Luz, Paw and the boy have similar traits: belligerance (or “baltic“, a shortened Filipino word for “ballistic” and similar to the word “spastic”).

When they are corrected for any bad behavior or are given a choice to follow a righteous path of living, they go ballistic, seriously.

Then they calm down and either say sorry for their offenses or carry on as if nothing happened. Now, how insane is that?

I learned that I cannot be right all the time. Because no matter how much loving is given for their own good, the recipient of such “good will” do NOT always reciprocate and get angry. Wow!

But if there is one thing that I wish I could learn recently was how to read minds! That’s right! With my newfound telepathic abilities, I could take advantage of any situation and bring everything into perspective for those who are clueless.

First, get a life. Stop wasting your time behind the computer because you are not going to find your “prince charming” online. Chatting about nonsense is not necessary. Spend your time outdoors and enjoy nature. Meet real people and improve your social and conversational skills. So do yourself a favor and do something worthwhile with your time, too.

Second, live your own life to the fullest. Let other people do what they want without imposing your will upon them. Make sure that you will not be responsible for their problems or accept blame for their issues. Tell those who annoy or bother you to seek professional help and that they cannot find answers from you because you cannot read their minds or claim to know all the answers.

Third, find something else in common to do and share with others. Do your best to explore your life’s potential. If you are good at talking and “thinking outside the box”, be a counselor. Since you are too gullible, stick with the religious folks. They may be mostly nutters but at least they are harmless. You may be good in dealing with people in secluded places, such as hospitals, prisons, and asylums.

Fourth, know your personal boundaries. In other words, avoid those who are stupid and clueless. Depending on your patience and understanding, take care of your health and stress level. Know how to say “No” and mean it. Avoid meeting fugly people: They are your worst enemies. Beware of people who continue to take advantage of your kindness. They will go to prison or at least burn in hell.

For a person, it was a spook — tall, blond hair and blue eyes! He and I would have gotten married but he was smelly, like a dirty rat, just like all the other Reptilians I’ve encountered all my life.

For a thing, it would have been my lost teddy bear. It was no ordinary teddy bear. He was small, soft and cuddly. His fur was like that of a tiger — black and orange. His eyes were black as two buttons and his nose was a small and round. Plus he had whiskers, too! But I’ve lost him long ago at the vile hands of a sneaky baby sitter!

For an idea, it would have been a God or at least a God-like person or guru, who knew me inside and out! That’s right! It’s someone who mirrors my inner soul, not someone who physically looks, dresses or acts like me, but someone who knows my purpose in life, wants and desires and is able to fulfill my every needs, such as cooking, cleaning and plucking my gray hairs.

For anything else, it’s my hopes and dreams for everything else not yet imagined. That’s redefining a void in my heart and creating something out of nothing — to recapture that which has been lost — the interest in loving and to love in return. Pooh!

  • 20110205-More Spooked

Ever once in awhile the parakeets would scramble inside their cage. Paw reported that the parakeets did just that around 4:15am.

And when we came back from this evening’s Saturday mass and upon entering the house and flicking on a light, I saw the parakeets were clinging to the sides of the cage. I believe they were spooked because the “wooden” vertical blinds were not closed and probably they saw something move outside in the dark or something reflected in the double-paned, acrylic, sliding backdoor.

Later on during dinner, Yeyo, the oldest of five remaining parakeets got spooked. She lunged forward into her son, Buddy-Boy, who lunged forward to the swing in front of him. Yeyo’s eyes, like Binky, were wide open with fright. I don’t know if it was the vitamin supplement liquid or a sign of an earthquake or something else.

I noticed that Yeyo is eating more often. And she got lost upstairs when we came back from this mid-morning’s walk around the park. There were a bunch of slightly over-weight children and a black guy leading them to exercise. Asian children and their elders were playing; while a bunch of guys were playing tennis. We did two circuits in 30 minutes and Maw got tired.

There is nothing really important to tell about myself because my neighbors do NOT speak with each other. Instead, most of these people stay indoors and rarely greet each other because the suburb is made of mostly hard-working, tax-paying, compliant American citizens. Some don’t work because they had property from their former homelands and come from wealthy family backgrounds.

As a matter of fact, it’s better that people avoid each other so as not to catch their cooties, hear their problems or go through their dramas, such as domestic disputes. Take for example, our next door neighbors. One is divorced nutter and her husband is an illegal ALIEN, who had lots of money as a handiman. But because the divorced nutter is a typical, ambitious Visayan, she helped the one-eyed creep spend MOST of his hard-earned money on vacations.

So as far as I’m concerned, the divorced nutter created in her mind that I’m having an affair with her second husband. With that said, her alternate reality forced me into the picture as a “bad girl”, which is fine because I keep calling the cops, who won’t do anything on our behalf to get rid of her from our neighborhood until we either get physically injured or die by her hands.

As for the co-workers, they only could say positive things, such as reliable, nice, quiet, shy and hard-working. Those who dared to cross my path have been reported to the Human Resource Department! That’s right! As an “entrepreneur”, I too would like to have employees that know how to draw the line with nutters.

For example, a turd from my previous job came by my desk twice. He was being disruptive by hitting my cubicle wall VERY loudly with the palm of his hand and later commented VERY loudly on how I sounded like his wife. I didn’t respond or blink but let him speak. Then I emailed his manager and in turn his manager reported the incidents to the H/R department. Again, I’m the “bad girl” for following the rules. And like the cops, H/R couldn’t do anything about him.

So what do these two stories tell my readers what’s it like being moi? Yup! Some would label me as a “dirty rat”, which is really a rodent, such as moles, muskrats, squirrels, gophers, etc. Rats are actually sacred for some South Asian Indians. Some rats do carry diseases. But some are known to make great pets.

Listen folks: Just behave, follow a righteous path and no one will get “hurt”. Do I make myself clear?

  • Bad and Ugly

To God and pals: Damn you all! My mind was wandering again during this lunch’s walk. I kept wondering to myself: “I’m getting the “bad” and “ugly” guys!”

One has a bad eye and smokes “California Gold”. One was too intelligent and a former make-up artist. One has child/ren and is an illegal ALIEN. One has an alcoholic problem and is on disability. One has an overbite, talks too much and is jobless. One is a nefarious business man and government agent. One has children, is divorced and a womanizer. One smokes, has children and is homeless. And the list goes on.

Gee! You’d think for once that I could meet a normal guy — the one without bad manners, bad odors, bad breaths, bad habits? No wonder I’ve not cared for establishing a long-term relationship with a suitor. They are either gay or taken! Seriously, the cute ones are more feminine and emotional.

Topic 22: Describe what your laugh sounds like. Who in your family is your laugh most similiar to, and most different from?

My laugh sounds loud and hearty enough to echo and resonant within the uninsulated ceiling and stucco walls at home and mostly done out of insecurity about subject matters, uncertainty to people’s reactions, bad timing to stories and in response to tasteless jokes. Since no one at home really laughs out loud like I do, the sound of “Aha!” from the back of my throat definitely sounds similar to Paw. The rest of my laughter may be from Maw.

Topic 20: What’s the most important thing you’re putting off? And why haven’t you done it yet? What do you need to make it happen?

I’m putting off marriage. Why? It’s because I lack the confidence to get things done. If I were smarter and know what I want in life and how to organize and better discipline my lifestyle, I’m sure “Mr. Right” would just suddenly appear on my front door and scare my parental units and me.

Anyway, I fear the other half’s bad habits, his in-laws, friends and any children and what other people might say. Yes, I may seem like a VERY mean-looking broad in person because people said so. But I’m sensitive to being criticized and that’s something I’d have to learn not the take personally.

That’s right! I expect to be financially stable FIRST before committing to a relationship that involves lots of mouths to feed and emotions to comfort. And if that means working hard during a day job, I don’t know if I’ll be happy. I’d rather be stay-at-home mother unit and seriously learn how to go shopping for clothes and food, too.
