  • What’s the most interesting news headline you saw today?

The most interesting news headline I saw today was: When Doomsday Isn’t, Believers Struggle to Cope from LiveScience.com – Sat May 21, 10:31 pm ET.

Bonus: I read the news every day. Sometimes it is worth my time because at least I know what is going on — more of the same thing death, war, violence and basically no real-world solutions, except for the few comic strips and affirmative stories to lighten up the rather somber stories found on “main stream media”.

  • What film have you seen more than any other?

I’ve seen the film “Nemo” more than any other. The last time that I saw it was a few years ago. I was with my family.

  • If you got a tattoo, what would it be?

If I got a tattoo, it would be a happy face – a nice yellow smiley face with two black dots as eyes and an upturned line to form a smile. It’s round shape of black and background color of yellow.

    Across the ballroom
a dancing couple in an eternal embrace
    one imaginary partner

    Across the aisle
    two-thirds progressive
    one-third independent

    Across the border
an old man dreaming of an angel
with silver hair and blue eyes

    Across the ocean
    faceless beings tethered together
    by the cords of hope

    Across the desert
    a valley death of
    bubbles bursting

    “One, singular sensation”
    Larger than a mustard seed.
    The King of all demons
    and his tough outer shell
meant to ward off the minions
    against humanity’s souls.

Yet all alone. High and dry
    Placed upon a pedestal
    of solid rock, a pinnacle
    of glory and a foundation
    for all other cornerstones
    worldwide and within.

    Yet still: High and dry
    ready for the next wind
to carry his only seed to fertile
    soil; for life everlasting.
    Instead of the mighty tree
    it became just another
    cone full of nuts.

My vehicle would be a normal hovercraft — the size of a regular sedan, perhaps as small as the SmartCar. It would take me on a noiseless ride to the supermarket; so I could buy groceries. Or it could travel super-fast to San Francisco, CA in less than 20 minutes. Traffic won’t be a problem because the computers are in control! That’s right! This world is run by the “artificial intelligence” through the “trans-humanist movement” by the very same folks who brought you computers and blogging. They would dare believe that robots could replace humanity and thus gain the capability of transient emotions and the rights of eternal souls.

I eat bacon with eggs. As long as the bacon is deep fried, the greasier, the better! I don’t like lean bacon! I like the one with lots of marbling (aka fat) in the bacon. I’d save the grease left over from the fryer and pour some over my steaming, white rice! The strips of bacon looks normal enough. I don’t know any other way, shape or form bacon should look, just to taste good, like in hamburgers and nothing more.

Reference: Write about something to do with bacon. Do you like it? hate it? Wish there more of it, or less? Do you like the way it looks, or do you wish you never saw it again? What do you think of bacon flavored chocolate, or the significance of the phrase “brining home the bacon?” Topic submitted by the folks at the Mike/Mitch project, a food blog, where they have many recipes, include a few using bacon.

If I could perform on stage, my rare talent would be opera singer. That’s right! My trait includes the difficulty in modulating the volume of the voice and in anger management. When seriously frustrated our voice can project VERY loudly. Any minor “trigger” can prompt unfortunately blathering to unsuspecting bystanders and sensitive recipients of said verbiage.

Having said that, last Christmas up at the Vice President’s house, I did sing the “12 Days of Christmas” in an opera fashion. As mentioned in my previous blog entry, my voice is no good with more “urban flavors”. I’ve been trained classically and that’s my favorite music genre. Give me Beethoven and pals, and I could try to waltz too! Not!

I learned that if I’m too fearful, something bad is going to happen. And sure enough it did! But wait! Something good came out of that experience. Here’s what happened.

While archiving, I was trying to save an updated file rather quickly, not thinking that I over-rode the wrong file! As a result, I had lost file(s) that I copied earlier. That was two days ago. I had tried to retrieve the data the following day from an external file but those copies were not the most recent files. Later on that night, I had decided to delete redundant files and came across copies of my missing file(s)! I was rejoiced to see that only two more files are missing and probably will be gone forever.

I’m still afraid that if I get too tired and too rush, that I might do something bad again. I hate that feeling. And the only way to resolve that anxiety is to stay FOCUSED and above all — RELAX and take breaks if necessary. I noticed that I’m sitting down too long and don’t take my breaks anymore!

    Happy Birthday to you!
    Oh, terrible and fearsome King!
    Kong’s apposable thumb
    and bigger brain
    didn’t stop him from
    displaying his prize —
a resurrection of your former self,
the ruler ship over a planet of apes,
    now mere mortals in its
    infancy of gathering
    bones leftover from yesterday’s
    meal of flesh and blood.

I’d make a great “house cleaner”! I actually find joy in arranging furniture, keeping size, color, shape and texture similar and organizing anything, including paper, too! Like Paw (who is great in tidying up the place) and like Maw (who is detailed in a dust free zone), I’d like to minimize clutter to the bare essentials. Anything too large that is too heavy to lift by ONE person should NOT be purchased. No more than one item per functional piece should in the household. For example, there should only be one blender per household, etc. And no more than style per room. Each furnishing should sport one prized possession. Anything more than one item displayed overwhelms the visual serenity of the place.

Ah! But the story has many alternative endings.

Scenario One: I see that I’m not too far from first set of happy puppies. So I could easily run to save them and direct the train to the farthest track; thus, it would give me time to run to save the second set of happy puppies.

Scenario Two: I could have the control switch go half way and hopefully the train would jump its train BUT remain in an upright position. We are assuming there are no people and/or animals on this passenger train or that there no hazardous materials on board this freight train.

Scenario Three: I could just walk away and let karma decide which track the train is meant to travel. Either way, one set of puppies will go to heaven right away; while the other set of puppies will take longer to find peace ever after.

Scenario Four: I could turn into a super-hero and fly really fast or use my levitation powers to rescue both set of happy puppies and let the train pass by on schedule.

Scenario Five: I could imaging this topic never existed.

Topic #97: An out of control train is about to run over a pile of happy puppies. You are standing at the control switch and can pull the level to direct the train onto a different track, saving their lives. But that other track has a smaller pile of equally happy puppies on it. What do you do and why? Note: no actual puppies, happy or sad, were harmed in the making of this topic. Topic inspired by Peter Singer.
