  • Comment Moderation…

Duh! So I just figured out how to keep my spam folders free from “goodjohnjr”.

Go to Settings > Discussion > Comment Moderation

“When a comment contains any of these words in its content, name, URL, e-mail, or IP, it will be held in the moderation queue. One word or IP per line. It will match inside words, so “press” will match “WordPress”.”

Don’t forget to press the “Save Changes”. When you see the message “Settings Saved”, you are good to go!

So I entered goodjohnjr.wordpress.com and his IP address, each on its separate line.

I expect him to repost his most recent comment, which was accidentally “Delete Permanently”!!! 🙁

P.S. I discovered this feature a few minutes ago. I’m slow. Sorry.

  • Don’t delete my primary blog!

Aieee! I forgot to select the OTHER WordPress.com weblog: “Just A Pause”. I hope the “Support” team doesn’t delete the content of “The Blogging Path” as per the body of my request!!! Bah!

    Delete Blog

    What is your goal?

Did you know that deleting a blog removes both the blog name and the content forever? Chances are pretty good that there’s a better solution.

Please review the options below and make sure you’ve selected the one that best fits your need.

Empty my blog of all content

If you wish to empty your blog of all of its content but keep the blog name, please contact support, and one of our Happiness Engineers will be glad to lend a hand. Do note that once the blog is emptied, the content is gone forever, so please make sure you mean it before you ask us to empty your blog.

  • Is there a cure for stupidity?

Is there a cure for stupidity? Nope.

“Stupid is as stupid does.” ~Forrest Gump

If you had a million dollars to reduce stupidity where you live, how would you spend it?

I first would round up the stupid ones of all ages, put them on a train and haul them to FEMA camps for indefinite detention. But that’s only a fable story.

An alternate solution could be: Just don’t have children and abort the ones that will be known to have defects. And use the ones with disabilities to do simple tasks for businesses.

Another alternate solution could be: Let them live and continue to fool them into believing that everything is fine and dandy and that a savior will come (after thousands of years) to save the day and night.

  • 20111209-Trying Theme

Prior to midnight, I purchased a $45.00 Premium Theme. I like it because it’s got my Genesis stuff and mostly pink colors. That’s all until 30 days for a full refund (if NOT completely satisfied). I can NOT improve my personal blog other than to change it’s layout and appearance. The content is as my new tagline says: “Mostly Rants and Other Stuff”.

  • The Long and Short of It

Okay. I am following the Matt meister on both his Twitter account (for the second time as follower approximately 35, 074) and on his “not” WordPress.com.

  • 20111203-Noticing Stuff

A few minutes ago, I trolled my “Blog/Site Stats” and noticed that I’ve gotten six (6) “Unknown search terms“: two today, three yesterday and one in the past. It appears that “privacy reasons” has something to do with this latest “mystery” of “all times.

Yesterday, I’ve trolled my “Store” and noticed a “Value Bundle” for $99 (at “1 item”) has been added  to my “Cart” and is ready for “Check Out”.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that the Dashboard has taken a different look: The “Blog Name” no longer displayed above a “php” function as a “Post Title”. The drop-down menu on the upper left hand corner serves as a direct link to the “front/home page” of a blog.

Further back, I noticed that the left-hand menu shows a right-hand menu when using the mouse/hover over feature.

Nice. Now all I need is something to keep me interesting in blogging. Because journalizing, much like those fools who want to memorialize their crap for generations to come/see/behold, is NO LONGER fulfilling.

  • What is something you always talk about, but never do?

I always talk/blog about how to improve others. Yet, here I am not doing much to improve my life/style. The notion of “change” is often on my mind. And I believe in karma and the fact that I’ve pretty much given up on myself and others.

  • Navigating your blog

Wow! Last night, I was thinking about updating my customized Menus modeled after a Premium Theme: Shelf to show: Aside, Gallery, Image and Quote. But this theme and like most WordPress.com themes (including WordPress.org) do NOT seem to include my favorite time stamp in a readable text version. Their version is a hover/mouse over “title” attribute to the date/time stamps.

So last night, I’ve set my primary weblog to “Privacy” many times. I was “retagging” old posts as “Asides” for entries done via my cellphones. I could tell because the “Excerpt” view during the “BULK EDIT” does NOT have prompts for “Continue reading—>” and the “word count” is around 140 characters with spaces.

Further, I made use of the new “Post format” via “BULK EDIT” and (again) “retagged” old blogs to reflect “Gallery” for more than one “Images”. I did general searches of my post with “wpid” attachments, including files for “.jpg”, “.png“, “.jpeg“, “.pdf”, and “.gif“.

“Audio” files of just “.wav” and “.mp3” were also “retagged”. As for the “Video”, that didn’t work.

  • Post format

Waahee! Matt meister and Happy Engineers have done it again. I see “Post Format” has been added as a drop down menu for “Bulk Edit” activities. It must have been my, err, “requests”. With deep bows, you have made Evil Kitty happy (for now). And thanks to Andrew for “killing” my import session after a week of waiting! Bahahaha!
