  • 20100525-Widespread Outages

While browsing Yahoo! News, I came across the following article as to why our friggin’ phone line didn’t work this morning:

Widespread outage for AT&T’s digital phone lines
By PETER SVENSSON, AP Technology Writer Peter Svensson, Ap Technology Writer – Tue May 25, 4:48 pm ET

NEW YORK – AT&T’s new digital home phone service failed across the country Tuesday, illustrating continuing reliability issues with Internet-based phone service.

Customers of AT&T Inc.’s U-Verse Voice said their landline phones have had no dial tones since the morning. Reached by cell phone, the customers said those who call them get a message that the line has been disconnected. Support personnel are telling customers that a server crash brought down U-Verse Voice in AT&T’s entire 22-state local-phone service area.

AT&T spokeswoman Mari Melguizo said the outage started at about 10:30 a.m., and service was restored to most subscribers at 2:45 p.m. She said the extent the outage was unknown.

As mentioned in one of my previous blog entries, an young Asian man was knocking from door to door. At that time, he was a sales representative for AT&T. He was looking for moi! But for whatever reason, I knew better and referred the conversation with Paw by my side because he is the homeowner and primary account holder of the land lines. So you damn Homeland Security spooks better back off, now!

Now, this went on for about a couple of hours with him stepping indoors, which he is not supposed to do. He explained the features and benefits of reducing long distance calls with digital phones and faster internet service by switching to AT&T U-verse. Their fiber optic cables were better than the copper wires by Comcast, by the way and that convinced me.

But in order to set up the product, a credit check had to be run and that meant Paw giving out his personal details over the phone. I knew this AT&T, being so popular as it is, has something to do with privacy issues and perhaps Obama and pals snooping around for more data than necessary. The spook gave coded messages to this contact via his cellphone and said something along the line of `happy`. He turned and asked if I was happy.

So you see people, anytime you WANT something from the system, you will be SLAVES to their technology. You will have no cable for viewing television, no phone for calling in case of emergency, no internet for reading articles online and basically, left with talking to real people. And by not paying electricity to run these digital gadgets, there is no other way to communicate with the outside world. Scary.

  • 20100525-Rainy Day

Currently, the rain is pouring. Earlier this morning, there were lots of fluffy, puffy clouds of gray. Horizontal clouds of poof were in the distance over Mt. Hamilton. We were en route from dropping off a refill request at a doctor’s office and then the DeCA at Moffett Field, CA. We ordered $8.50 BBQ chicken from the old wife with lots of make-up. The old Vietnamese guy kept talking money with my Paw.

  • 20100525-Dream Journal

During breakfast this morning and at around 9:20am, Maw told of her dream. She saw what appeared to be calm and VERY peaceful North American Indians, if you will. They were not black. They were not brown. They didn’t speak English but she understood through their gestures and perhaps telepathy.

She saw their small houses and a a river, which looked to be a VERY clear but small drainage. She asked one young woman where the river came from. The female told Maw that it came from the hills and that whenever she saw the water it reminded her of a son, whom she lost at twelve years old.

Maw felt she was in another dimension where children laughed and played. They were pointing at Maw and smiling.

Maw wondered what her dream meant.

  • 20100524-Always Hungry

    Hungry ghosts:

A hungry ghost is a ghost that “eats” the emotions of living humans or whose actions are driven by emotions leftover from its previous life.[citation needed]

    Pretas:

Pretas are believed to have been jealous or greedy people in a previous life. As a result of their karma, they are afflicted with an insatiable hunger [and thirt] for a particular substance or object.

    —

Yesterday, the girl gave us food to eat: one cheese, two types of salad dressings, two containers of fruits – watermelon and mango. Today, the boy gave up two bottles of Japanese green tea to try. He plans to buy more if we like it because it’s supposed to help with cancer. Both are sincerely thoughtful people. My mind will go but surely my soul will not forget their kindness.

Eating doesn’t have to be for survival. Sometimes eating can be an addiction, which explain why some people are OBESE! For me blogging daily and spending money are two forms of addiction. These humanized actions eat at my soul. I don’t know when to stop no matter how many times `messages` have been thrown my way. I feel happy living out these destructive addictions but the end results do NOT fulfill my desire to be free. It leaves me feeling empty.

This could explain why there has been almost ten slong years of delays, snags and simply non-repayment of hard work from a troubled soul. Alas, TPTB do not see what they have done, punish the soul further or perhaps help the soul repay its karma. Whatever the case may be, both sides of the games hunger for more. It’s a sad cycle.

This could also explain why one soul tries to feed other souls who suffer the same fate of hunger and thirst, despite not having the financial means due to unemployment for the past three years and as a result is on the verge of going bankrupt due to unpaid credit card debt taken out UNWITTINGLY to fuel a previous set of hungry souls prior to learning of the latter set of homeless but good folks.

  • 20100523-Won’t Forget

I won’t forget what the twosome has done. Forgiving them is not my forte. It’s who they are: snots. And here are a couple of old farts telling me to stop crucifying the girl. Whatever. I’m like my cousin Shill. Once, twice but thrice is enough. So I’m waiting to hear what is their excuse this time for no returning my call. Let me guess: They are busy. They are too tired. They had another party to go to. They didn’t get the message until later on. I don’t care. Calling the fools wasn’t my idea. It was really for the old farts. So there: I’ve done my part. Does that mean I should try harder? F.U. all.

  • 20100523-Older Farts

While trying to enjoy the lunch with the two old farts, the female continued to rail on my behavior. This is the price that goes for trying to take care of old farts for living free and clear, secured but without freedom to go naked.

They are hard of hearing. They are hearing things, too. And they get mad when their young try to correct them. I curse them, of course. I curse my fate. I curse TPTB and pals, too. Do you think I’m happy living like this – unemployed and broke because the thugs and F#Ds are in cahoots with each other? No!

It was such a beautiful day that crazy people should just be locked up for good. It’s too bad some are still free to roam in public. It’s really sad that family have to put up with people who have been through much and try to smile as if nothing happened and that everything appears normal – when it’s not! Scary.

  • 20100523-Beautiful Day

Today is beautiful! The sun is shining bright. The skies are clear and blue. The air is warm enough for the parakeets to enjoy some fresh air. We received a call from the boy at 9:00am but we were planning to attend the 10:45am mass: It’s warmer in the mornings than during the evening masses, such as Saturdays.

We didn’t go to the 12:15pm mass or go to the party held in the parish hall for the old priest. Instead, the three of us found our way to `Phu Sam – Chinese and Vietnamese Restaurant`, which is across from our local USPS at the Pacific Rim Plaza II. The food is good! From now on we will go there and order take out food.

Then I called the main house number of the twosome for a quick dinner so that they can taste the food we enjoyed at the restaurant.

I really wanted to see the boy launch his sailboat but because of my karma, I suffered the fate of attending Sunday mass with the old farts. What a life!

  • 20100522-Beautiful Day

Today was beautiful. Lots of clear blue skies with fluffy, puffy clouds of white AND sylphs, too! The sunshine came and went from behind popcorn clouds this afternoon.

The parakeets got their fresh air and sunshine as well as their much needed bath with the garden hose. Maw walked around while I chatted for the second day in a row with the folks at WM. I talk nonsense. Haha!

  • 20100522-Dream Journal

You’re not going to believe this but Will Ferrell was in my dreams.

Indoors, I was running, jogging or exercise in a counter clockwise direction. On one area, I was jumping down on three to four stairs, which had those black-colored, glitter-filled, anti-skid pads on it.

At one point, one of his SNL buddies comes from behind me and tries to make out. I was actually sitting on one stair below the actor, while reclining comfortably into his lap. I recognized his face but I kept repeating over and over (either aloud to the twosome or to myself) that I do not know his name. He got sad that it didn’t work out and he was sitting alone on the far right corner of the stair.

Then of course Will was to my left side of the stair and reclining fully on his left side. I was sitting to his right or near where his butt was. I had spanked him with my left hand on his right derriere because we was always joking. Then I saw in my mind’s eye his list of how to get rid of his dates.

Then later, I found myself outdoors with someone else who could have been female. I noticed the cement colored brick work on the left side of a tall, old tree. There were also red-colored brick works, too. There were two sections of these cement-colored brick work that got hot. I visualized that water should have been put over it so as to cool down the area.

I think Will was still in my dreams and outdoors, too. Sheesh!

  • 20100521-Prayer Journal

Allen B. and Yesenia L. got married today. Here is a prayer in Spanish as printed on a blue-colored book marker with blue fonts and a white ribbon on the top:

  • 20100521-Noticing Numbers

    At 3:33pm, I finished urinating.

This was after attending a wedding at Holy Cross [Catholic] Church since 2:00pm. I love the mariachi band. The mass was held in both English and Spanish. The bells chimed – deep, middle and others – at the beginning of mass. Almost all the elements of a Catholic wedding were there:

    • FLOWERS with candles lined up the aisle.
    • Coins and cord, except the veil.
    • Lighting of the WHITE universal candle.

Only the chiming of bells didn’t occur when the priest held up the host and wine.

We took communion, except the girl, of course. We left as soon as the bride and groom walked down the aisle. I only saw two other Asians. The rest knew each other as either family or friends.

  • 20100520-Beautiful Day

Today is beautiful! The sun shines. The skies are clear and blue. The winds blow gently then but now strongly. I could see the branches waving as the golden sunrays highlight the leaves.

It was somewhat cold under the shade of the patio this morning. But the warmth of the sun proved to be enough to keep the parakeets warm while Paw and I washed three cars.

Today, I’ve received four separate phone calls from a well known international head hunter for the `accounting division`. I just check his email and lurked to the company’s website. I like their products. I want one.

Anyway, after the washing of three cars, I man-handled the leaf blower and blew debris, branches, twigs, seeds, and dust left over from the almighty eucalyptus tree to the side of our fence.

Then I took my much needed shower, ate lunch and helped Maw with the preparation of tonight’s dinner by mainly getting her ingredients and such. She did the chopping and cooking of the kabocha squash.

Rest and digestion came after wards. Timing could not have been made more perfect than with a little loving boost for the beautiful weather, a healthy lifestyle yet a slow death of my family and parakeets, the repair of my car and with the financial assistance of Paw, and overall faith in the unknown.

Then again, if my screen call tomorrow doesn’t go well, meh! I don’t mind staying home and taking care of my elderly parents and playful parakeets. It’s being told what to do that stifle my creative attitude. I cannot stand being bossed around but survival comes first before ego, security before freedom and food before fun.
