  • No side/bottom bar…

Last night, I had to switch back to the Twenty-Eleven theme. Don’t ask me why I am not satisfied. I would like a hybridization of all the free themes here at WordPress.com (as suggested by John Jr in one of his comments here).

I like a clean and simple appearance for my weblog. As a result, there are no widgets to be seen in either the sidebar or bottom bar! And there are only three menus: Posts, Pages and Archives. Therefore, there are only “internal” pages, which include the blog/post entries.

I’m testing out this “feeling” without the bottom/sidebar and so far it’s one day of idle satisfaction. But for how long will this temporary satisfied feelling last? I’ll give it another day or so. If only there are MORE shortcodes for all the other widgets, then I’ll be good.

One thing I learned about blogging, people like censorship and positive affirmations, such as awards from each other. That’s what I don’t like about blogging and social network. Honest criticism won’t be taken lightly, even aruged and later ignored by the offense. I’m not playing this game of “smiley faces”. I’m sick of people denying my reality. But everyone continues living like frogs being boiled slowly to death. Perhaps, you’d be FED up too if you knew your places.

    I’ve been seeing/awaking at 3:11am, 6:33am, 7:11am, etc.

I finished giving the parakeets a quick bath at 10:15am. The handyman, the divorced nutter’s illegal ALIEN second husband, could be heard hammering and/or removing the roof pieces of the shed. It is a make shift structure “attached” to the side of the wall, which is nearest to the side door leading to the garage.

I heard the sounds for the past one hour while I was throwing away twelve half pieces of young coconut shells that Maw chopped open for pne pitcher of juice and pulp.

Paw was outdoors to clean out the dryer lint and hand me the drying towel. Thank goodness the green-colored sailboat material was lowered so I could work/hide on the our side near MY long stretch of road.

The fluffy, puffy clouds of white were covering the skies and the weather turned cold. So I hurried to dry the cage and to get the parakeets indoors; so they won’t catch a cold.

They are singing and relaxing indoors. The bath was necessary to remove bits of apple pulp that Bully Boy ripped to shreds, which stuck on the cage amd fell on the floor. Bad boy!

  • 20111001-Trying Theme

Here I go again. I’m trying the Steira theme and have only three main menus:

    • » Posts (Nom-Noms by Evil Kitty);
    • » Pages (Table of Contentments) and
    • » Archives (Ancient Archives of OLD posts).

And so now the “front/home” page is the latest entries (or Posts) instead of the “Contents” page.

  • Bad widget…

I sent the Support team another issue regarding the difference in the count item for “Category Cloud” widget and the “edit.php” page. The widget is off by two or three items, especially for my main “Uncategorized” tag. I merely used “A list or dropdown of categories” widget in place of the “Category Cloud” widget. But I really wanted the cloud version until the issue is resolved.

  • WordPress > Error…

So I was trying to delete eight “Unattached” images from the “Media Library” of my Dashboard and got the following error message:

    “Error in deleting…”

The eight images are still stuck in the “Unattached” folder.

  • Deleting widgets…

Besides deleting 21 static pages, I’ve deleted all “Inactive Widgets — Drag widgets here to remove them from the sidebar but keep their settings.”

Those deleted widgets were images for Plinky, Twitter, AddThis and Google Translate and are now set-up under the “Customized Menus”. These appear as text widgets: “Follow me” and “Extras”. Both are located way on the bottom of the weblog (or the right footer bar).

    Double digit numbers 09-23-11
    Two Widgets

Well, I just noticed more double digit numbers today. This one is from a few minutes ago per two sidebar widgets.

    • Akismet Protected — 96,144 spam comments and
    • Blog Stats — 69,211 total views.
  • Deleting pages…

Since the beginning of my blogging experience, I wanted static pages in a weblog. So I created many pages, which were redundant. Tonight, I will delete 14 static pages because they were combined “logically” in other pages; can be seen as widgets in the sidebar menu or as links.

  • Tag ID equals one…

Well, I messed up my tags and categories. As a result, I had to move ALL categories to tags and redo my “Default Post Category” to “Uncategorized”. That took me the whole night. For whatever reason, some of the “Uncategorized” didn’t have links and so I had to go through each item and do either “quick edit” or “bulk edit” to update the category.

After the late night “auditing” has been completed, I then moved/converted my “popular” tags back to categories. Now there are only two pages of tags and one page of categories. I don’t know why WordPress.com can’t combine both tags and categories. It’s a hassle to figure out the difference other than hierarchical sorting for the categories.
